Chapter 109: Julian

Finally, it's over! Terrance stretched lazily, feeling exhausted, but he knew there were a number of things waiting for him to deal with, so he won't be resting anytime soon.

The course of the event, what he witnessed, all needed to be recorded to assist the police. Only by completing this could the case be perfectly concluded.

"It's been a while."

Terrance and his group came to a halt, surprised as they looked at the man sitting on the ground, covered in dust. The man was missing a leg and now sat cross-legged on the ground, looking as if he had just been through a major battle, appearing incredibly weary.

"I know..." Mr. Looker smiled, greeting the man.

Terrance immediately realized. This man…..must be the one who had destroyed the poachers' weapon at the front, right?

"I wasn't talking to you, Looker, but to the girl behind you," the man shook his head and said.

"Uhh…you..." Looker's mouth twitched, but he also turned around to look at Cynthia.

"Teacher Julian, it's been a while," Cynthia said.

"It hasn't been that long; I just didn't expect to run into you here. The thing that happened afterward, you had a hand in it, right?" Julian wore a knowing expression. If it's Cynthia….then everything makes sense.

However, Cynthia shook her head and said, "I merely helped a bit. The main credit goes to Mr. Looker and Terrance."

Teacher Julian?

Hearing this form of address, Terrance recalled something. The person appeared to be a teacher from Crown Academy, responsible for instructing the Battle Class. What made Terrance remember his name distinctly was one thing...he was the teacher who challenged Cynthia to a battle and lost.

"It's him," Terrance muttered in surprise. After losing in the battle, this teacher had resigned from the position of the Battle Class teacher, and he had no idea what he had been up to since then. He had never expected to run into him here. Moreover, Terrance's eyes fell on the man's legs...a disabled person, as a teacher at the academy?

Although Teacher Julian had often been discussed by students privately because of his defeat in the battle, no one had mentioned that he was a disabled person.

Julian noticed Terrance, and his Crown Academy special uniform clearly indicated his identity.

The reason Crown Academy's teachers….him and Teresa, did not follow orders and rushed over here first, was precisely due to these seven students who went to North Lake for training.

"I received a message earlier that Teacher Teresa has already found the students, and none of them are in danger," Julian said. "So, Student Terrance, are you prepared to explain why you're here?"

Terrance hesitated for a moment, "To save my Pokémon. Isn't that only natural?"

"If that's the case, why did you come alone, and did you consider the danger of doing so?" Julian suddenly raised his voice, staring at Terrance, as if he wanted a satisfactory answer.

"I didn't think about it, but I had no other choice," Terrance replied.

"Besides, I believe that acting alone would increase the chances of success, so I could only use some tricks."

At this point, Terrance looked at Mr. Looker and expressed his gratitude, "Thanks to Mr. Looker for teaching me the knowledge I needed to do all this successfully."

Looker, Cynthia, Julian, all looked at Terrance in surprise, and a strange thought arose in their hearts. Is he really a rookie Trainer?

"If Terrance hadn't released so many Pokémon to help, I would have had a hard time dealing with these poachers alone," Cynthia suddenly said, "and... Terrance is truly remarkable."

Cynthia recalled when she fought alongside Terrance, and his astonishing commands... After Garchomp had used Draco Meteor, Terrance gave a surprising command to Swablu.

"Watch closely, learn it, and use your full strength."

This absurd statement, if Cynthia hadn't seen Swablu actually use Draco Meteor with her own eyes, she wouldn't have believed it at all. A Pokemon that previously couldn't use the powerful Dragon Type move Draco Meteor, managed to learn it quickly just by witnessing it once, and its power was so remarkable.

How well must a Trainer know their own Pokémon to confidently give such a command?

Terrance had this confidence because he understood the uniqueness of Swablu, its affinity for Dragon-type energy, and he knew exactly how far Swablu had progressed. Moreover, with the "Garchomp" demonstrating a highly standardized Draco Meteor right in front of it, it was only natural that Swablu learned it with just one look.

Since Swablu could inherit Dragon Rush through its parents, it wasn't an exaggeration for it to learn Draco Meteor. The culture solution that Master Victor spent an enormous amount of resources to create has completely transformed and activated Swablu's Dragon Type bloodline, making it no less formidable than most Altaria in its current state.

During the challenge against Crown Academy, Cynthia had no idea that such a promising Trainer was hiding in the academy. Terrance, on his own, infiltrated the poacher gang and accomplished the most crucial step in their destruction. It was precisely due to his impact in the rear that Julian had a better opportunity to cause disruption in the front.

The key to this victory lay in the fact that Terrance released many Pokemon, which disrupted the opponent's plans from the inside.

Even at her age, Cynthia hadn't been as ridiculous as Terrance.

"...As a student of Crown Academy, you truly are quite amazing," Julian said after a brief silence, looking deeply at Terrance. He didn't often give such praise to Trainers, especially after witnessing Cynthia's strength.

"Your habit... hasn't changed, has it?" Looker shook his head.

"No need. I forgot to introduce myself properly. Before I joined Crown Academy, I was an International Police officer, just like Mr. Looker," Julian said.

Cynthia and Terrance both noticed the hint of loneliness in Julian's words, and with his disability, they quickly understood the reasons behind it.

"It's all because this guy is too reckless in his actions." Looker sighed, feeling a bit regretful about his former colleague.

"I have no regrets," Julian replied, shooting a faint glance at Looker. He propped himself up with his hands and continued, "And my philosophy remains unchanged. Most Trainers are just good-for-nothing, engaging in battles that are empty and overly theatrical, which only further tarnishes this profession. Since coming to Crown Academy, I've become even more convinced of this philosophy. Most Trainers lack the necessary qualities."

"You're forcing people to do things they don't want to do. Times have changed, so leave the battles to people like us," Looker said.

"I don't care about that. Talented Trainers will shine no matter the era." After saying this, Julian directed his gaze at Cynthia. "Among the many young Trainers I've met, she's the only one I can truly acknowledge."

"Even in the International Police, she would rank as one of the best. She's truly remarkable."

Gazing at Cynthia with admiration, Julian felt a wave of emotion. Although they were both Trainers, the gap between them was insurmountable, whether it was in terms of talent, qualities, or imagination; Cynthia outshone him by far.

Weak Trainers couldn't even earn recognition from Gyms, while powerful Trainers could rival the battle-hardened elite officers of the police. A qualified Trainer had transformed their Pokémon into their right-hand man, creating an effect where one plus one equaled more than two.
