IN DAMIEN'S OFFICE
"Where were you last night? I called you so much. You didn't pick up. I went to your house this morning. You didn't return home. Where were you?" Monica's voice quivered with a mix of worry, frustration, and hurt as she confronted her fiance, Damien, the moment he stepped into the office. He had just come back from the hospital and freshened up in his penthouse at the top of the building.
"I had a bad headache, and I went to the hospital. I stayed there as per the doctor's instructions," Damien replied curtly, his voice carrying traces of exhaustion and a dwindling patience. Walking towards his cabin, he noticed his employees bowing down to him as he passed by, some offering their greetings, but their well-wishes felt distant to him.
"And you want me to believe that?" Monica's tone turned sharp, anger seeping into every word she uttered.
