Chapter 59: 3.21

For a moment, as the white light of God enveloped me, I feared I wouldn't be able to wake back up. Thankfully, God's voice woke me up.

[Congratulations on becoming…]

I quickly cut it off, "Heal me before anything!"

God stopped, and after a second I was finally enveloped in God's healing light.

[-3165 Points.]

It was a steep price, but I was missing both of my legs, I was on death's door and I had a Rank B Enhancement, so the price was justified. I actually expected more.

Sighing in relief, I mentally asked for God to show me my status.

Intelligence: 410

Mental Capacity: 613

Cell Vitality: 512 (768)

Reaction speed: 415

Muscle density: 428 (642)

Immunization: 723

It was something alright. The biggest increase was, by far, my immunization. I hadn't managed to make it grow from 400 since I got the Super Soldier Physique, and now it had reached more than 700. My Mental Capacity had also increased by more than a hundred, and same goes for my Cell Vitality.

With the boost from the Fists of Randagulf, it had actually become my highest Stat. I actually had a suspicion that my high Cell Vitality was what had lowered the cost of my healing from God.

Of course, what I really cared the most about were my rewards for this mission.

I went in with 5300 Points and a Rank C Reward. I lost 8 teammates, so minus 16000. Then I saved the Akatsuki, so plus 2000 Points and Rank D Reward. Completed Main Mission, 3000 Points and Rank C Reward. I also got 2000 Points and Rank DD Reward from my assist with Ibuse, and finally a Rank BB Reward and 18000 Points from killing Hanzo. And minus 3165 Points for the healing.

That's… 11035 Points, and 3 Rank D Rewards, 2 Rank C Rewards and 2 Rank B Rewards. But since 3 Rewards can be exchanged for one of a higher rank…

I got out with 11035 Points and a Rank A Reward.

Fuck me.

'Alright God, you can resume your congratulations.' I sent these thoughts to God.

[Congratulations on becoming the Team Leader of Team Western Europe! You have received the following rights.]

I felt information being crammed into my head, and I couldn't help but smile at it.

One of the benefits I had gotten was the ability to know ahead of time in which world the next mission would be. As for us, Team Western Europe, our next mission would be…

The Boys, Team Fight.

Well ain't that a bitch.

I would worry later. Other than knowing which world it would take place in, I also got to know which type of mission it was, bringing me to my next point.

We weren't the only Team in God's Game.

We already suspected this to be the case when we realized we were all from Europe, and my suspicions were only strengthened when I got my mission to become a Team Leader.

Now, thanks to my position, I learned there were 17 Teams in total. 15 of them were regional in nature, such as our team. As for the last two Teams, they were Team Celestial and Team Devil.

Team Devil was presumably filled with Clones of interesting candidates. And according to God, my clone had been sent to their team after this mission.

Honestly, I was a little offended God hadn't sent a clone of mine before this, but now that he did, my clone better not die at anyone else's hand. Well, he is probably inferior to me, since he is a clone, but it would be embarrassing to meet someone who killed my clone.

As for the other team, Team Celestial, it was made of real players. Every time a player became a Team Leader, they would be offered a position on the team. And so was I.

I refused.

While the Team Leader was supposedly the strongest member of every team, thus theoretically making this team the strongest, I found it to be dumb.

If every Team Leader was similar to me, then the team would be filled with the same kind of fighter. But to make for an efficient team, all kinds of talents would be needed.

Besides, who was to say there wasn't someone with an S Rank enhancement, or several, on Team Celestial? If that's the case, then what would be the point of going there, since I would become a subordinate?

So I refused the invitation to Team Celestial without any kind of hesitation as I passed onto the next advantage.

A Team Leader had the ability to discover whether certain enhancements could work together.

Back when I first talked to God, I was warned about different enhancements possibly clashing with each other, but I could only use my own guesses to see which ones would clash with each other.

That was over now, as I could now know for sure. And I could do that for any enhancements, not only my own, meaning I could help my teammates too.

Another advantage was the possibility to now exchange things for teammates. For example, I could buy an enhancement for another member of my Team.

Finally, the last benefit was a final bit of information, about the Genetic Constraint.

As it turned out, I had opened the Second Genetic Constraint.

Genetic Constraints were limits imposed on humans since their very conception, and there were five of them. The first would allow one to awaken the instincts hidden deep within their DNA, and allow them to reach a nearly perfect state for battle.

The second, which I had opened against Hanzo, allowed the user to control up to 90% of their body, with the exception of the brain, and use more than 100% of their strength.

As for the third, fourth and fifth, I would have to unlock them to learn what they did. But according to God, opening all five Genetic Constraints would allow a human being to ascend beyond the human condition.

Each of the Genetic Constraints would also allow their user to better use their enhancements, something I had experienced myself. After all, the Second Genetic Constraint alone allowed me to obtain a sharp increase in strength.

Supposedly, a player with only a Rank C Reward but the Fourth Genetic Constraint opened would wipe the floor with a player with a Rank A Reward but only the First Genetic Constraint opened.

I personally took it with a pinch of salt, as I doubted someone with only the Super Soldier Physique, no matter how many Genetic Constraints they opened, could match a Kryptonian, but who knows.

In any case, while Genetic Constraints were important, so were enhancements.

Done with my introspection, I looked to my side, and saw my surviving teammates.

Jonathan, veteran of three missions. My oldest teammate.

Sarah and Erik, veterans of two missions. Both looked relatively fine.

And the newest additions to our team, Claire, Asher and Jordan. Each of them had played a critical role in the last mission, and proven themselves to be valuable team members.

Of them, only Asher was being healed, to recover from opening the Genetic Constraint.

Asher was the first one to get out of the beam, and a couple of minutes later, I followed.

The pain gone, I landed on my new legs, and I couldn't tell the difference. God's healing really was incredible.

I looked at my six teammates, and smiled.

"We survived."
