Hearing that request, Maxieno pursed his lips.

"You ruined the mood, Edna." His gentle gaze slowly hardened.

"Sorry."

"I will not give it," the man replied simply.

"Why? Isn't the Queen your friend? Wasn't your purpose in visiting other continents to look for that medicine? If the Queen recovers, then she can continue her efforts to care for the three eggs left by your brother."

Maxieno had another reason. He turned to Edna.

"I have another reason. You'll never understand."

"Alright, I might not understand it. Then, can you explain it to Otis, please? I feel sorry for him. Otis is very old, and he is worried about the Queen. My heart hurts when I see him crying."

Edna didn't know where her emotions were coming from, but she felt suffocated. Thinking about how Otis had endured everything for so long made her heart ache. Edna wanted to cry. She then averted her face so her master would not see her eyes welling up with tears.
