Chapter 27: Appearance

The Hall that was being used was the largest in the Lu Clan. The Lu Clan naturally had such halls for special events, since they had the most influential power in the Gaoliang District. They had to make sure the largest hall would be able to stand to the name of their clans and hold such events where all the influential clans would be present.

The maids in charge of the decoration of the hall were done with the transformation of the hall, the wall of the hall was pure white and everything within it was also white. The hall transformed into a paradise.

The atmosphere of the clan which had always been silent, had now switched into an exuberant, and lively place due to the banquet that had gathered many people from different clans.

For the past ten years, the clan had never held any big event or celebration. The last time the clan held an event was for the celebration of the birth of Lu Shang but they later found in the ceremony that he wouldn't ever be able to cultivate in his lifetime. After the discovery, there was only a heavy atmosphere of sadness around the clan but gradually everyone accepted the fact.

The other clans pretended to be sad with them but within them, they were all happy because for countless years the control of the Gaoliang District had been in the hands of the Lu Clan. The other clan had been planning to snatch the control for them but were afraid to act openly and that doesn't mean they don't act in the dark.

How can the power of the Lu Clan be underestimated? They had always seen through the plan of the other clan and confronted them with their strength.

The Gaoliang District had never expected there to be any kind of events to be held anytime soon by the clan until recently when they got an invitation from the representative of the clan. They had thought that it was an event of celebration of the awakening of Lu Shang, who was said to have been in an unconscious state for a year. Unknowingly to the Lu Clan that the other clan had already given Lu Shang a name which was 'crippled heir'.

But to the clans' surprise, it was a combined invitation of the return of Lu Mang and the celebration of Lu Shang. They couldn't afford not to go, in fear to offend the Lu Clan in any way.

In every corner of the hall, there was either a maid or guard to attend to every need of the guests. Since it was the responsibility of the guards and maids to make sure everything was in place.

The sound of slow and cool music could be heard around the hall.

People were already settled in the great hall.

"Lu Mang, the great previous leader of our clan. Who had been roaming outside the hall, is entering the hall" "Lu Shang, heir of our clan is also entering the hall" One of the royal guards stationed at the front of the hall announced, everyone stopped doing what they were doing before turning their heads to look at the front as they saw a tall man, dressed in a white noble attire coming out with an appealingly handsome, ice-blue eyeballs young boy who was also dressed in the same attire as the man.

Everyone immediately focused their attention on Lu Mang, his entire being carried a sense of power, especially when looking at his steady gait. His dark eyes were focused and piercing as if they could look through one's soul.

"This man is said to be one of the most powerful men in the whole of Gaoliang District."

"Don't say I didn't tell you, don't try to get on the bad side of this man. He doesn't think twice before going into action regardless of whether the person is from a powerful clan, as long as he is more powerful than the person."

"Don't dare cross his path just you see that he is cool. Am afraid that you'll not live to see the next day if you even fortunate to experience the next minute."

Different whispers could be heard all over the hall.

Soon, everyone shifted their gaze onto Lu Shang who was walking alongside Lu Mang, not expecting that he was bold to come out to them with a smile on his face.

What surprised them was his appearance even though they knew about the fact that he was crippled. When they looked at him, they felt like they were looking at anything that can be crushed without wasting much time.

His neat hair and ice-blue eyes, in fact, everything about him seemed impressive, especially for the young girls who even forgot to close their lips after seeing his appearance.

"That's the crippled heir, such a waste of birth and energy."

"I have been hearing about him and this is my first time seeing him. Nothing special about him, then why is this crippled famous around the town."

"Why wouldn't he be famous all over the place when he is the heir of the Lu Clan or have you forgotten that the Lu Clan is the controller of the Gaoliang District?"

The young cultivators from other clans whispered within themselves.

A young boy and a girl were sitting close to each other.

"He is damn hot, one of the most handsome boy, I have ever seen," the girl said out loud.

Her voice attracted different people to turn and look at her.

The boy turned and faced her. "What do you mean?" "What's the difference between us, we can't be compared in handsomeness. Am more handsome than him and even known as one of the young powerful cultivators in the Gaoliang District which he can only look up to me in awe since he can't cultivate" the boy said with a displeased look on his face.

"Y-You handsome than him, this is the biggest joke I have ever heard. Don't ever mention the fact that you are more handsome than him or can't you see that he got the attention of all the girls in this hall on himself. Truly you are tenfold stronger than him but when it comes to handsomeness I can't explain the proper word to use because using handsome is like am downgrading him…" the girl replied with a smirk on her face without turning to look at the boy.

The boy bit his lip in shame because people were listening to their speech. "Lin Lan, can't you see I love you? Our clan had already betrothed us to each other, why are you trying to make things hard for us? The earlier we get used to each other the better" The boy paused and then looked at Lu Shang with hatred in his eyes. "You know you can't afford me since only a few years are remaining for us to get marriage"

"That's the arrangement between both clans and not of my intention. So get it into your head, that I'll never get to be with you" Lin Lan revealed a cold look on her face before standing to leave.

"You can't refuse when the time comes, then what are you going to do?" The boy asked in an angry voice as a cold aura was released from his body, making the weak cultivators find it difficult to breathe and could only move away from him.

Lin Lan stopped without turning back. "You will know when the time comes," she replied before walking away.

'Damn, Lin Lan. You are forcing me to go hard and you're not going to like it when I start' The boy said within himself as he clenched his hand before shifting his gaze on Lu Shang. 'Just because of your appearance, you spoiled everything. I will make sure you regret this"

A guard walked up to him. " Please control yourself," the guard said in a respectful tone because he knew about the identity of the young boy.

He sighed and then retreated his aura when he knew about the disorder he was unknowingly causing.

The girls in the hall were discussing the breathtaking appearance of Lu Shang.

Lu Shang was unaware of the dispute his appearance caused between two people, he felt like the ground should open and devour his figure when he felt the heavy gaze of everyone on him especially that of the girls.

Lu Mang said to him in a teasing manner. "Seeing what I am saying. It seems like the girls are surprised by your majestic handsomeness. All eyes on you, look at how you got their attention"

Lu Shang couldn't find any word to reply with. He was impressed at the transformation the maids had brought to the hall, and how grand everything here seemed and walked slowly, seeing hundreds of gazes falling on him, each carefully studying him.
