Chapter 49: Necrotic Wyvern.

"Eve! Run!", I yelled as I sprinted to the left flank of the wyvern.

"You take the right!", I signalled her.

She nodded and sprinted towards the right.

The Wyvern twisted its head towards both of our directions before deciding to chase me.

'If not for the spirit boots, I would have been dead meat!', I thought as I ran with all my might.

Suddenly, I felt a surge of mana and my spine shuddered.

I looked back while running and what I saw would have definitely made me pass out if not for Mage's Fortitude.

The Wyvern was preparing a breath attack. Clouds of black mana were being gathered in its rotting jaws.

'Shit! That's not an Undead Wyvern! That's a Necrotic Wyvern! We stand no chance!', I realised.

A Necrotic Wyvern was a higher species of undead than the Undead Wyverns. They had a special skill 'Necro Breath' that decayed anything the breath touched, with the exception of magic metals like Tungsten-Mithride, Aluminium-Orichtide and of course, Diamonds.
