Chapter 3: Chapter: 3

[Tony 'The Vulture' Carmicheal POV]

Whoever Falcone hired was good too damn good and way too thorough. All his bases are gone. Eighty percent of his gang died and they needed forty-eight hours. And he had no idea who they were since they left no survivor. He had no description to do and no one to go after. All he could do was hide in his last base with what was left of his men.

While I was contemplating my next move the light went out. But this is Gotham and I have backup generators. Yet after five minutes passed I was still sitting in the dark.

"Someone go check on the generators"

I received no answer.

"Tch I'm not in the mood for this BS. You fuckers better not-"

"Ah-"

"Shit, what was that?"

~BANG~ ~BANG~

~Ratatatatatat~

Blood-curling scream and confusion was what interrupted him. The sound of bodies colliding with dye floors and walls. Gunshots went off in the building before abruptly ceasing. I got my guns from the drawer and aimed at the door. It was now quiet outside. All his men must either be dead or dying. How many of them were they a full hit squad hired by Falcone perhaps? It didn't matter he could offer to pay them more if that didn't work at least he didn't go out like a bitch.

"Tony"

He heard someone saying his name in a sing-song tone. He aimed his gun at the door.

"I don't know how much Falcone is paying you. But I can double it, hell I'll even triple it if you kill him for me"

"Oh Tony Tony Tony that's quite flattering. You willing to pay all that for little old me"

"Yes, you and your crew. You're the Boss, right? Work for me and you never be without cash" I said. He was interested in his tone.

"Crew," the man said with a chuckle."No crew hear Tony just little old me"

The door was kicked and flew off its hinges past Tiny barely missing his face. Cold sweat dripped down his back and his brow as he looked back at the reinforced steel door that was added to the wall. He faced the now-open entrance with trepidation, the lights in the hall outside his office were out and silence and darkness greeted him. But the source of his fear was a glowing pair of amber eyes and a fanged grin that seemed all too amused with the situation.

The fear finally overcame him and he opened fire.

~Bang~x6

But then next thing he knew an overwhelming force smacked the gun out of his hand and had him pinned to the wall by his neck. As his feet dangled and he struggled to breathe the grip of innahis neck loosened a bit, just enough for him to breathe.

He took a deep breath and tried to calm down. He got a good look at the intruder. He was tall and built but lean but his eyes and fangs added a layer of menace to his aura and if the profiling sensation on his neck was any indication, his claws as well.

"I'm sorry...y please do...do..don't kill me"

Stammering and sobbing, Tony the up-and-coming mob boss went out the done, and Tony the whiney bitch entered.

Sabertooth's smile became even more menacing.

"Let's play a game, Tony. My claws can extend as far as three inches. Three Inches seated steel shredding claws."

Tony started trembling which caused the claws on his neck to hit him and blood to flow.

"My point. Now I'm going to put my free hand and put against your chest right in front of your heart. I'm gonna count to three. Every count I extend an inch after I count to three three I remove your still-beating heart from your chest. You following me"

Tony bobs his head up and down slowly to avoid another cut.

"Good. Now where are the leaders?"

Tony bit his lips.

"I can p-"

"One" The claws extended an inch

Tony was cut a pain shit threw his body and any thoughts of bartering his way out of this left.

"Ah, Ah, Ah I have a contract Tony and I intend to complete it"

Blood was leaking from his chest but was slowed by the claws plugging the holes.

"There is a heading compartment in my desk"

"Good now that wasn't so hard was it? How do you access this compartment? Is there a code? If so what is it?"

Tony grits his teeth. Those leaders were his only means of rebuilding. If he l-.

"Two" The claws extended another inch there were effectively around his heart. He could feel it. They were carefully past the rib cage and had a gentle grasp on his heart. His FUCKING heart.

A shrill scream left his mouth.

"I don't think you're taking me seriously hear Tony. I mean I'm promising a close-up biology lesson and your stalling"

Tears and snot were running down Tony's face.

"The...There's a switch. The...The...The code to the compartment meant is 6829351. The ledgers are in there. Just...pl..please get them out of me."

Sabertooth both listened and felt his heartbeat to confirm he was telling the truth.

His smirk widened even more and his creative method worked so well. Then again prey that thought they were predators on the top of the food chain. When prey embrace the illusion of being predators, they may forget that true strength lies not in the illusion of power, but in the authenticity of one's nature.

Sometimes, a predator's presence serves as a stark reminder, shattering the prey's illusions and forcing them to confront the raw reality of their place in the natural order.

He licked his lips. He loved the feeling of a successful hunt.

"I believe you, Tony. And I'm a man of my word"

Tiny breathed a sigh of relief as best he could given his current state.

"THREE" The claws extended to three inches and Tony coughed up blood. Stunned at what occurred.

"W..w...wh....why"

"I never said I would spare you, Tony. People in a heightened state of emotion hear what they want to hear. Besides Falcone wants the Vultures gone and a message sent. Why else would I have been so messy with you all...besides the enjoyment of course ."

Tony's eyes widened his fear reached an all-time high.

Sabertooth's teeth showed in his grin.

"There it is. That look In the twisted theater of battle, I savor the pungent aroma of despair that wafts through the air, for it's in their suffering that I find the sweetest fragrance of victory."

Sabertooth started chuckling.

"Ple-"

Before Tony could finish he felt swift and excruciating pain. And as his weary eyes looked at his still beating heart in Sabertooth's hand he knew this was the end.

"Life's worth is measured in the choices we make, and today, your heart becomes the currency of mine."

Those were the last words he heard before the light left his eyes and his body hit the floor.

Sabertooth with the leaders in hand pulled out a phone as he was leaving the building.

"Job's Done. Pick up at the preselected location"
