Chapter 123: A few... hundred!

The overall situation in Artakam was better than he imagined. Sure the town was technically under 'new management', but the people were safer now, and even worked less. 

A bunch of local soldiers that used to guard Artakam and its surroundings, were working in the mines now. This in turn, easened the work-load on the other workers there, as about two-thousand soldiers were putting in some hard labor now. 

The town was richer in exchange, even though the country of Cochar took a greedy cut out of the mine's coal and ore production. Unironically, the town was stronger than ever, once its people were monetized, rather than sent out to fight wars!

That part was all nice and dandy, but it wasn't what Bardeelus cared about for the time being. His family was safe, so all of the other details seemed miscellaneous to him.
