"State your reason for being here or be killed immediately."
Lisa frowned, couldn't death just leave her alone for a single day!?.
"I-i'm here to find the-" She started but got cut off by one of the shadows who grumbled and smacked the one holding the sword with the hilt of his own sword.
"How many times do we have to practice this Brandon? it's stop there or get killed!" From the way the shadow shook, Lisa could tell that it was angry.
"Hey! Why did you hit me? It has been a whole century since anyone came here, how do you expect me to remember?" The other shadow growled, readying his sword to fight in his defence.
"It seems like you've grown quite a lot during the years that we were apart BROTHER!" The first shadow hurled his sword towards Brandon and Brandon did the same, making the two swords clash and a wave of dust was blown towards Lisa who covered her nose and took a step forward before they could start fighting.
"Enough!" She screamed and the two shadows froze." If you really want to fight each other then the least you could do is let me go!."
"I don't know what your brother had done to make you so angry because I'm sure that this isn't only about him forgetting his dialogue or whatever. The truth is, we can't do without our siblings. They are there for us to talk to, play with and also someone to put the blame on." She chuckled and continued.
"You can't let something so petty to get in the way of your relationship with your brother. I'm sure you would never kill him no matter what."
Lisa cautiously stared at the two shadows who in unison lowered both their swords and fell on one knee which surprised her her to no end.
"Forgive us your Highness"
Lisa didn't get it. Why where they calling her your Highness suddenly?.
Nevertheless, she quickly replied"Please, stand up, I forgive you."
The two shadows stood up in command and looked at themselves before looking at Lisa who didn't quite understand their expression since it was not visual and was changing each second.
"Can we ask you a question?." One of the shadows spoke up and Lisa nodded for it to go ahead.
"Do you perhaps know his Highness?" Asked the shadow and Lisa bobbed her head and questioned.
"Why do you want to know? Is there something I'm missing?." Lisa's eyes narrowed at the shadow who spoke and the shadow quickly shook its head.
"No no your Highness, it isn't like that, it's just that we felt like we had met you somewhere before. The things you said we're somewhat similar with what someone had said to us but we can't remember who."
"I see.." She drawled. Lisa knew that Lucas definitely had some secrets which he wasn't comfortable in telling her or wasn't meant to tell her but why did she have this nagging feeling that something bad was about to happen?. Not soon but soon enough.
"The forbidden library draws close" A whisper brushed her ears and she shivered.
That's right! The whole reason she was here was for that alone.
"Since we are now basically like friends, can I go to the forbidden library?"
The shadows seemed a little hesitant at first but they nodded. It was like they were speaking to each other in thier minds.
"We haven't seeked permission from his Highness yet but we can always make an exception and go with you."
Lisa didn't think that was a bad idea at all. If possible she didn't want to be alone in venturing a foreign place." Then that settles it, let's go."
The shadows brought out a key and put it into the door which made a large metal sound before opening slowly.
"Watch your step." The shadows went in and Lisa although wanting to stay far away as possible from whatever crazy adventure this was going to be, but she ended up walking in and the door shut with a loud bang!.
When Lisa stepped inside, she took
a sharp intake of breath and remained unmoving in shock.
The place they entered was the complete opposite of where they just came from. There was white snow everywhere, crystals and mountains of ice covered most of the surroundings, strange birds that were white and blue in colour swept around, probably studying the new visitors, tiny people like creatures with wings slowly creeped out of some white trees which were taller than even the ones in the forest of Unknown.
Lisa couldn't believe what she was seeing!. This felt like a fairytale.
She would ask again. Just want kind of castle was this?.
They continued moving and finally, they halted at another door which was very different from the first one. It was dark, creepy and had a large eye which was closed at the middle.
It was actually only now that Lisa noticed that the surrounding of this area was very different from where they were.
The white trees had turned black and the snow was also black but had a pinch of red splattered in some corners. The tiny creatures seemed scared to approach and vultures hovered above their heads as if waiting for their dead bodies to feed on.
"Unfortunately, we have to stop here." One of the shadows spoke, it's voice vividly shivering.
"Why!?" Lisa blinked her eyes in shock. She couldn't possibly go in there alone! And what in hell's name are they scared of?.
"That place isn't for creatures of the dark and can only be accessed by a human or an angel and your a human right?" The shadow tilted it's head and Lisa forcefully nodded.
"Right." She muttered.
The shadows did their last bow and left hurriedly while Lisa braced herself and approached the door, knocking on it once.
"Who dares challenge the seer?." A mighty voice thundered throughout the forest and Lisa internally gulped.
"I, Lisa cloven, challenge you oh great seer." She whispered the last part and watched as the big eye on the door open and stared at her.
"A pity that you will die today Lisa cloven."
