Chapter 287: Bone and Soul

The skeletal crew running the ship suddenly became agitated. Their jaws unhinged, and they started shrieking in such a shrill tone that it almost made Xander's ears bleed. 

The bony sailors rushed at Xander like rabid wolves, clambering and climbing over each other. Xander swung his scythe with both hands and decapitated the first wave of attackers with a single cleaving blow.

The other skeletons were about to pounce on him from behind, but he snapped around like an agile wolf and slashed through their bones, toppling the stumbling skeletons.

Unlike the Skeletal Warriors summoned by necromancers, this ship's skeletal crew consisted mostly of frail skeletons dressed in tattered rags and armed with sticks and paddles. Xander had little trouble dispatching the weaklings, despite their overwhelming numbers.
