Chapter 176: Tiva’s first lesson

Eager and excited, the young trainees lined up in an orderly fashion, their hands clutching their Chronicas and their eyes fixed on their mentor.

Before Master Ramone could utter a word, Tiva snuck past him and took her place in front of the smallest straw mat. Just like the others, she too pulled out her Chronica and held it firmly within her delicate palm.

Master Arwin smiled at the little girl. "She really does take after Nelly. I remember when she first joined us, she was unusually high-spirited and as confident as our oldest student."

"I guess she would have still been alive if she hadn't trusted you, but she was a naïve girl," Xander cut in with his snide remark, quickly making the smile fade from his old mentor's lips.

Master Arwin knew his apologies would do little to make amends, so he chose to stay quiet and avert his gaze.
