Chapter 73: Potions of Power

A tense silence hung in the air as the two combatants glared at each other, each trying to anticipate his opponent's move. The Alchemist raised his balled fists aggressively, assuming an attacking stance.

If Xander wanted, he could have wrapped things up quickly with the Eyeless Watcher, but it would be no fun to bring a gun to a fistfight. He wanted to give the Alchemist a fair chance. Besides, Xander had no intention of taking the man's life.

"Are you just gonna stand there?" Xander taunted his opponent, his lips curving into a mocking grin.

"I'm gonna beat you to a pulp, kid!"

The Alchemist rushed at Xander, his knuckled fist speeding through the air like a bullet and whizzing past Xander's right ear.

"Not bad," Xander sniped, dodging the punch with ease. "But you're gonna have to do better if you want to impress me."

"You arrogant little twat!"
