Chapter 3: A lady wearing maid costume has a bob haircut
Hua Duo, the project manager, beamed with satisfaction as he delivered the exciting news to the team, "Good job, everyone, and especially small Jing! Your hard work and dedication paid off, and the boss loved our idea. He's even awarding us with extra bonuses this month." Hua Duo turned to Sun Jing with a smile. The team erupted in cheers. Despite his playful teasing, Hua Duo was an adept manager who knew how to unify the team and bring out their best. To celebrate their success, Hua Duo generously offered to treat the team to a hotpot dinner that evening. However, Sun Jing politely declined the invitation as he had a prior commitment on Friday evenings. In order to maintain strong relationships with his team, Sun Jing often joined them for meals after work, but he made an exception for Friday nights to spend time with his father.
As Sun Jing walked towards the bus station, he pondered what to buy for dinner. "Perhaps I'll get some chicken to cook," he mused. A year ago, after starting his own company, Sun Jing had travelled overseas in search of his mother. However, he was informed upon arrival that his mother had relocated to another branch, and her whereabouts were unknown. Sun Jing was devastated until the staff passed him a letter in his mother's handwriting. In the letter, his mother had assured him that she was okay and had gone to another branch of the company. She apologized for not being able to keep her promise but asked him not to worry about her. Sun Jing cherished the letter, and it had become his solace, assuring him that his mother was alive and well. Nonetheless, he often wondered about her and hoped to see her again one day.
Lost in thought about his mother, Sun Jing sighed and wondered aloud, "Where are you, Mum?" "You'll find the answer in the other world." Suddenly, a woman with a bob haircut and wearing a maid's uniform materialized before him, startling him. In a cute voice, she invited him, "You are invited, Master Sun."
