If I'm being honest, things are starting to freak me out as the deadline of the full moon is coming closer each minute.

After dropping Scott off at work, I drove home with my mind whirling a million thoughts per minute.

My casual joking in the woods was now starting to make more and more sense.

The bite. The enhanced senses. The whole thing at the lacrosse match. It was all adding up and I wasn't liking the sum in the least.

Nobody would ever accuse me of having an under-active imagination but then again, nobody would accuse me of being the sort of flat-out, LARPing weirdo that couldn't tell the difference between reality and fiction.

Fine, I had my fair share of World Of Warcraft and Assassin Creed-related miscs and posters on my computer but this and that are two totally different things.

It could have been a rare night for Beacon hill as I didn't turn on my scanner.

It should have been a rare night that I didn't do my homework.

It must have been a very rare night that I didn't even play Call of Duty or Dragon Age.

No. No, tonight, I'm digging.

Digging hard into the bowels of Google for answers.

"Ly. Caon."

I typed into the search bar with my eyes narrowed on the screen.

"Lycaon, the cruel king of Arcadia, who offered Zeus a meal containing meat from a roasted human being. In anger for spoiling his feast, Zeus rapéd Lycaon and his sons after transforming them into wolves and cursed them with an eternal urge of full moon. The royal family became wolves one after the other on the nights of full moon as the curse passed on with heirs, soon the kingdom crumbled as the peasants moved out of the capital in fear."

That was the first ever mention of a man becoming a wolf by mythological standards, it was certainly a lead but I'm not gonna stop until I get some actual facts.

I went deeper into the actual lore and for every search I did, there was at least one link to a Werewolf; The Apocalypse forum or worse, a Laurell K. Hamilton fan site and Jesus, I so did not need to know about the whole A/B/O dynamic.

Aside from the really kinky and weird stuff of romanticising the monsters into hot guys and sexy women, the actual lore was fascinating.

Men bitten by the wolf, howling at the moon, wolfsbane, silver bullets and moonstone, from Lon Chaney to Michael J. Fox.

The movies had called forth the bestial man and in doing so killed him a thousand times over.

The rare story that ended happily usually involved a cure of some sort. Not a single character in fiction had a happy ending with that particular curse.

The Beast of Gévaudan was something that surprised me, considering if it is what I think it is. It surprised me because it was an actual history fact, many books about the history of France had covered it and people still talk about it.

Anyway, after I was finished with the whole history of werewolves, I moved on to the main game, anatomy and biology.

The searches gave me a thousand different descriptions on werewolves and a few hundred variations of their powers and weakness, the most common weakness were silver bullets and wolfsbane and of course the night of the full moon, when the werewolf shifter is more animal than man, which makes him less smart and gives him a spike of bloodlust.

My urge to butcher Lydia suddenly made more sense.

I even went through the behavioural pattern of wolves as they are the most comparatively closer species to werewolves rather than humans.

Right as I was reading through it, I noticed something. I blinked as I clicked the site and entered a book website. A specific book on the Education genre caught my attention, 'Monstrorum Liber.' Which literally translates to 'The book of monsters'.

The book seemed legit and luckily Thunderbird and Whales bookstore seemed to have a copy of it. I need to snatch that book tonight.

I sighed as I leaned back on the chair, massaging the bridge of my nose. It might be a bit of a leap with the amount of facts I have but I'm seriously considering the possibility that Scott and I are in fact cursed.

I stood up from my chair and moved to my bed. I spent the better part of the day in that seat and I was in need of a break.

I fell on the bed as my eyelids became heavy, I just needed a few minutes off but the universe won't let me have it as I heard somebody knock on the door.

I blinked as I turned towards the wooden board and grumbled, pushing myself off the mattress.

"Stiles, it's me." Scott yelled from the other end.

"Get in." I opened the door and pulled him in. "You need to see this."

"Woah! What the heck were you doing all day?" He asked with an impressed look as he gazed at the scattered papers and pictures all around my room.

It was messy, my room was always messy but it was just messier now.

"I have been up all night, reading books, websites, all this information." I slowly noted pointing at key papers as I made my way to the bed.

"How much Adderall did you have?" Scott asked in concern.

"That's the problem Scott, I didn't have any." I threw the full bottle of my medicine at him.

He looked at the sealed bottle and kept it on the computer table and took the few pictures of werewolves I had on the table in his hands.

"What's all this?"

"Okay, first things first, the report from the dead body came back this morning and they found animal hairs in it, wolf's hair." I said, passing the report file to him.

"Isn't it illegal to steal police properties?" Scott asked, pointing at the seal on the page, not the first thing I thought he would notice and yes, it's illegal to steal anything but when did that stop me.

"Doesn't matter, listen to me."

"Is it about the body? Did they find who did it?" He asked, taking a seat on the chair.

"No, they are still questioning people, even Derek Hale." I muttered, reminiscing about the edge lord creep.

"Oh the guy in the woods, we saw the other day."

"Yeah, yeah!" I said, throwing my hands in the air, stopping him from interrupting me any further. "But that's not it."

"What then?"

"Remember the joke from the other day?" I asked, knowing full well he did. "Not a joke anymore."

He blinked, looking confused while I began to elaborate further.

"The wolf- the bite in the woods, I started doing all this reading." I looked to my right, found an interesting piece of fact etched on the paper and stood up giving off some Sherlock vibes. "Do you even know why a wolf howls?"

"Should I?"

"It's a signal, when a wolf's alone, it howls to signal its location to the rest of its pack." I took a deep breath as I came to this point. "We heard the wolf howling, which means others could have been nearby, maybe a whole pack of them."

"A whole pack of wolves?" Scott's eyes widened as he stood up in shock but that was not the real shock.

"No… Werewolves."

"..."

There was a moment of silence before he bursted out.

"Are you seriously wasting my time with this?! You know I'm picking Allison in an hour?" I rolled my eyes and knelt down to collect the papers.

"I saw what you did on the field today, Scott." I sighed, tapping the sheets in order. "What you did today was not just amazing, it was impossible."

He glared at me and if looks could kill I would be dead right now.

I knew he would be offended by my comment.

I took the shot but he did all the work, but the problem is he can't do those works normally, which makes it feel like a bit of cheating, not that I mind. It benefits me, I made first line.

"Yeah? So I did some good dodges."

"No, Scott, you did incredible out there." I stood up and kept those sheets into a file. "The way you moved, our speed, our reflexes, don't you get it." I saw him gulp as I mentioned it.

He knew it was weird too but he just didn't want to accept that he made first line by using some supernatural powers. Scott is not seeing the bigger picture, he never did, this isn't just about us, we could seriously hurt people.

"People can't just suddenly do that overnight and there is vision and the sensory overload, I noticed it too Scott." I added, added and kept adding. "And don't even think I didn't notice that you don't need your inhaler anymore, the same way I don't need my pills."

"Okay! Dude, I can't think about this right now, we'll talk about this tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? What? No!" And I finally had it with him. "The full moon's tonight, don't you get it?"

"What are you trying to do?!" He roared.

"We just made first line, I got a date with a girl, who I can't believe wants to go out with me and everything in my life is perfect, why are you trying to ruin it?!"

"Scott, I know this sounds fucking crazy ok? I wanna be so wrong but everything is against me here, against us." I gritted my teeth and glared.

"I know that I'm sounding like fucking lunatic but what if I'm right, if I'm right then it means we call seriously hurt some people, people that we love, like my dad, I don't want to hurt my dad but what if I did?! I can't live with that Scott!" I sighed, calming myself down as I sniffed back the tears forming at the edge of my eyes.

"I'm trying to help, we are cursed, Scott." I stared in his eyes as I made the final point. "And it's not just that the moon will cause us to physically change but it will also when our bloodlust will be at its peak."

"Bloodlust?" Scott raised his brows at the term.

Seriously, who doesn't know what bloodlust is? Take a breath Stiles, he is not cultured like you.

"Yes, the urge to kill, a lust for blood, bloodlust."

"I'm already starting to feel an urge to kill Stiles."

Trust me the feeling is somehow becoming mutual.

"...Was there a comma between kill and Stiles?" I wondered, that simple comma changes the meaning of the whole sentence.

"Anyway, you need to hear this." I opened my laptop and read a line I highlighted on a page.

"'The change can be caused by anger or anything that increases your pulse', alright? I have never seen anybody raise your pulse like Allison does. You gotta cancel this date." I closed the laptop and moved towards his bag.

"What are you doing?" He asked as I picked up his bag.

"I'm gonna call her right now and cancel the date."

"No, give it to me!!" Scott suddenly roared and pushed me against the wall with his hand curled into a fist.

I narrowed my eyes sharply at his face, his eyes flashed into a golden brown for a moment before vanishing. That confirms it.

"Scott, take your hand off me." I gave a low growl as I pushed his hand away from my collar.

He took a breath and looked at me for a moment before slowly releasing his clutch and stepped back "I'm sorry, I-I gotta go and get ready for the party."

He picked up his bag and walked towards the door but stopped before leaving. "I'm sorry."

I watched him leave and gritted my teeth as I jumped on the bed. Scott is being way too reckless with this, I need to watch out for him but what if I changed myself.

Oh god, what a fucking dilemma.

"Somebody is going to get hurt tonight."
