Chapter 82: 81 - Thoughts

Using his own room key, Victor unlocked the door and pushed it open to reveal the same tiny room with only two beds.

Only this time there was someone else's stuff sitting on one of the beds.

"Yell it looks like your roommate isn't here right now, what a shame." Violet seemed oddly disappointed for some reason.

"Oh well, now let's get you settled in shall we." Violet smiled as she took out Victor's stuff from her ring and placed it down onto the bed on the left.

"Luckily you've got even less stuff then Michael, but unfortunately for you there's still the stuff you brought today." Violet filled the bed before she started to take out the stuff brought today from the auction.

"Now I know that Michael's stuff is also here but you two can sort that out later, alright." Victor's bed was fully covered in his packed stuff with the books and equipment on top.

"I would love to stay and help but unfortunately I've got to get going, so see ya." Violet waved at him before exiting the room but she stopped on the way out.

Looking over her shoulder she said one last boom shell of info before closing the door, not even giving Victor time to process her words.

"By the way, dad works here so don't be surprised if you see the old fart."

"Bang!" She closed the door and disappeared in an instant.

"What does that mean....?" Victor muttered to himself, not understanding why grandfather would be working here.

Deciding to ask and clarify when he sees her later, Victor turned his attention back to sorting and storing his stuff.

He crouched down and started to move item to the floor as he sorted and checked what he'll need.

Storing what he didn't under the back of the bed, he then moved onto what he will potentially need placing it closer for quick access.

This allowed for most of the bed to be cleared, now all that was left was his valuables and his suitcase full of clothes and toiletries.

First he went through his storage ring to see if there was anything not important that could be taken out.

Rearranging and organising it ha also stored away the valuables and equipment but unfortunately this proved to completely filled his ring.

Suddenly a huge sense of tiredness rapidly overcame him, taking a deep breath Victor moved to change out of his suit before going to bed.

Normally he would follow his normal routine but he was so tired he could bearly keep his eyes open.

Laying down Victor immediately fell asleep as his tiredness overcame him, as his energy went towards absorbing the huge amount of nutrients from his earlier meal.

Michael a few rooms down wasn't in a better state either, as he directly fell asleep without changing clothes or even clearing the other bed and sorting his stuff.

Around an hour later the door clicked and opened as a figured entered the tiny room.

They didn't turn on the light as they entered, their image hiding in the darkness of the room.

The unknown figure looked down a Victor with complicated emotions in their eyes....

Victor slowly opened his heavy tired eyes before sitting up, Victor pushed his hair out of the way.

Looking around his surroundings he remembered that he was in his dorm room, which was currently nearly pitched black as the room didn't have any windows to allow light in.

Placing his feet upon the ground he stood up before turning on the small light, lighting up the tiny space.

Stretching his arms and legs, he moved to check the time and get ready for today.

"10 in the morning.." He frowned upon seeing the time, rarely has he gotten up so late.

Another thing he noticed was that his roommates bed was neatly made, showing that his roommate was also someone of tidiness and habit.

Which was a nice change of pace, especially considering how messy Michael could be.

Opening his suitcase, Victor pulled out a set of workout clothing to wear for today.

As his plans are to go to the open field to test his new abilities and equipment with Michael, as unfortunately without a student ID and points there isn't much they can do.

They can't even enter the training buildings, borrow books, level up or anything else, luckily there's still free food in the cafeteria that's there for freshman.

So Victor got changed quickly into his set of tight fitting gear, that showed off his muscles and physique perfectly.

Then he put on a pair of shorts and a casual shirt, before checking his storage ring once more for if he's got everything they need.

Exiting the tiny room, he made sure that the door was locked before walking a few doors down to Michael's room.

"Knock, knock.." knocking lightly on the door , Victor waited a few seconds before hearing sound from inside.

"Click." The door slowly opened revealing a tired and messy Michael who was still wearing the same outfit from yesterday.

"Yeah, what's up?" Michael asked his face full of laziness as he pushed his messy hair out of his face.

"Get into some training grew, we've got things to do and it's already nearly midday." Victor said seeing Michael's appearance.

"Why it's still so early, Yawn!" Michael said thinking that it was actually still early in the morning.

"Umm, it's already nearly midday, we've both slept in." Victor said turning his phone around to show Michael the screen.

"What!?!" Michael yelled before turning right around to get dressed but not for missing out on dad light, no it was because he was worried that he'll miss breakfast...

Victor looked into the room and shock his head, as Michael's room was already messy and unsorted with his stuff layed out across the other bed.

Entering inside he closed the door behind him to give privacy to Michael while he changed into a similar outfit, not that he cared about being seen.

A few minutes later both boys existed the tiny room and entered the small hall, full of other freshman and sophomores.

Walking down the hall Michaela's attention as always was heightened as he listened, looked and watched their surroundings.

Victor on the other hand unconsciously let his guard down as he instead focused on his thoughts.

Since his gotten his class without realising it Victor has fallen into this habit , while Michael's had the complete opposite take place.

It's a strange change that's unknowingly taken place, as not only has Michael become more alert and focused around Victor but his senses have also improved dramatically.

Now normally both would have realised this dramatic change in behaviour but this change was so smooth and instinctual that the two were none the wiser.

So Michael unintentionally listened to the on going conversations happening around the two.

"This is so freaking stupid!" A man wearing posh clothing, clearly from a rich background stomped his foot on the ground as he complained.

"What kind of living conditions are theses!" A young woman wearing a bit too much makeup also loudly voiced her displeasure.

"Do they expect us to live and eww, sleep in such a place." Another girl said trying desperately to hold herself back from throwing up.

"This is meant to be the 5th academy in the alliance? We are at the top of countless geniuses and they expect for the five of us to live in such conditions!" A blonde man said full of disgust, sharing the opinion of the other four in the group.

Michael couldn't help give the group a second look upon hearing their conversation.

As he couldn't understand their thoughts really, as yeah the room is small and without storage space but it still doesn't matter as it's only a place to sleep.

But the conversation between two sophomores caught his attention, as the two were talking about the five freshman complaining.

"Hey, how many new kids do you think will drop out before class even begins?" A young woman who's school uniform was blue with wave patterns said.

"Last year it was 11% that quit, right?" A sorter girl reply while playing with her red uniform.

"No that was the year before that, last year it was 13% of new students that dropped out." The first said.

"Oh? Then you wanna bet how many drop out before classes even begin?" The shorter girl said full of excitement at the prospect of earning a few more points.

Unfortunately Michael was now too far away to hear the rest of the conversation as they made it to the stairs.

"Bro those two seniors were just saying that apparently new students drop out before class even starts each year." Michael said to Victor like he was sharing a hidden piece of gossip.

"Hmm, really..." Victor stopped his thoughts giving Michael a interested look.

"Yep, and it isn't a small number either. Honestly I don't understand why they would do it, after all it's not exactly easy to get into this academy." Michael gave his thoughts.

"Hmm, I do have to agree it is a incredibly stupid decision to drop out without even seeing what this school can teacher you or see the opportunities in front of you." Victor agreed, never taking into consideration that people would make such an important decision on their futures like this.

"Anyway what's on the agenda today? Boss." Michael asked no longer caring about new students dropping out.

"Well, I thought that we should spend these next two days before class getting used to our new equipment and abilities." Victor said while tapping his ring signifying that he's got everything they need already.

"Oh goodie, I been wanting to get my hands that new sword." Michael's ears glowed with excitement at the thought.

Heading down the stairs the two left the building and headed for the training ground where a open field was that they could use.
