Chapter 67: 66 - Where's My Loot!!

Michael looked down upon the boss, before looking up at Skelly who was now staring at him.

Shaking his head Michael turned over towards Victor's side, it was at this moment that the giant golem started to crack as it fell apart into pieces.

Settings off a huge crowd of dust as the ground shook, Victor had backed up as he shielded himself from the dust.

"Cough, cough!" Coughing Victor waved his arm to clear the dust in the air as he made his way forwards towards the fallen golem.

Once the air settled Victor could finally see properly, seeing that the golem wasn't un-summoned but dead.

He couldn't help but think about this, deciding to check the golems body for loot.

But Michael's call interrupted him, turning around Michael had unknowingly walked up behind him.

"Your plan worked perfectly..." But half way through his sentence Michael nearly collapsed as the adrenaline stopped and the pain of his injuries hit him at once.

Victor quickly caught him, stopping him from falling face first, helping him sit down on the ground Victor started to check his injuries.

Causing Michael to his in pain, removing Michael's chest plate Victor checked his wounds.

But it wasn't all of the cuts and lacerations bleeding that caused Victor's concern, instead it was the large purple bruise over his rips.

"Stop moving, I know it hurts but I need to check it." Victor comforted him as he started to feel Michael's ribs to assess the wound.

"Ok luckily for you it's not broken only slightly cracked, you'll be fine after all you've had worse from training." Victor pulled out some healing ointment for the cuts and started to apply it.

"Now you don't want any scars now do you." Seeing him in pain, Victor joked to lighten the mood.

"Ha says who, Ah... The ladies love them ouch." Michael grind but it twitched as Victor put ointment on a nasty long cut.

"There, now to heal the ribs we'll have to visit a healer as our potions won't heal it properly." Finishing up he passed a bottle of water to Michael before turning to Skelly who was dragging over the dead boss, to show off it's trophy to master.

It was at this time Victor checked his alerts.

[ *Special Boss* Earth Knight Spear-Master (Lvl 10) Killed + 27,000 XP ]

Seeing this Victor only had one thought, where's our loot!

"Hey! Where's my loot, you know how hard this was!" It seemed he wasn't the only one to notice this as he hear Michael yell next to him.

Almost like the Labyrinth had heard their complaints as a ball of golem light fell through the ceiling landing in front of them.

The golden light broke apart much like an egg revealing a large golden treasure chest, just waiting to be opened.

All of the sudden his injuries didn't seem to matter as Michael jumped up and appeared right in front of the chest.

Rubbing his hands in excitement with a stars in his eyes, Michael reached out to the key sitting in the lock before turning it, unlocking the chest as it slowly opened reviling a bright blinding gold light.

After the chest was fully opened the light receded reviling the beautiful sight of sweet, sweet loot.

Inside was a full set of yellow plate armour, wasting no time Michael ignored everything else in the chest as he picked up the helmet.

'It's so... Heavy!' He thought as he lifted up the helmet, it was unbelievablely heavy in weight as if it was made of solid Black Steel.

[Knight Helm Of Rock] (Gold Quality: Superior)

"Holy hell! Gold armour!" Michael couldn't help but celebrate and yell in excitement.

Hearing him Victor couldn't help but looked suprised as well, even if he didn't look it.

"Gold equipment? It seems our suffering was worth it." Victor said as he also checked the armour set, but unfortunately they didn't have the ability to check the info of the set yet.

Of course they could either hire someone to identify it or later they could ask Violet for help, as she should know someone who could.

Seeing how great the first reward they checked Victor turned his gaze to the rest of the items in the chest.

But there wasn't any weapons or equipment let alone ones that suit him, making Victor curse his luck.

The rest of the rewards were a crystal orb, 9 books, 2 metal sheets with inscriptions on them and an old scroll that looked like it was about to turn into dust.

At first glance it wasn't that impressive but when you look closer it was absolutely great loot.

But unfortunately they didn't have the ability to identify any of this loot, as when items get to a certain level you need a Appraiser to use magic to identify the items, the same thing happens with monsters but that's a later issue.

But they were now left with another problem, how were they going to take away the set of armour....

It weighed far too much for their storage rings, as technically these rings weren't actually theirs.

And even if they were both Victor and Michael were too weak to use them without assistance, so both rings have been limited to allow them to be used by them both.

But with this comes a few negatives as the rings can't even exert a 10th of their ability, limiting both the amount of storage space and weight they can handle.

And yes all storage equipment had limits on the weigh of what they could carry, for this reason combined with how expensive they are, most things are transported through carriages pulled by tamed monsters.

This left them with only two options, one leave behind the armour set but judging by the fact Michael was almost drooling over it this didn't seem like an option.

This meant that they would have to carry this heavy armour set out, while not only injured but exhausted....

"Sigh.." Victor couldn't help but sigh at the thought of it, as Victor could bearly even carry the boats and helmet, meaning that Michael will have to carry the rest by himself.

And don't even mention his summons, as they would break their bones trying to pick up the lightest piece.

Deciding to worry about this when they were leaving he turned his attention to the dead golem that began to crumble into pieces.

Walking over Victor started to search through the rubble, which proved to be a smart idea as not only did he find some magic metals but also the golems core still intact.

But what he found next to the core was worth the same or even more than the core, it's just he didn't know yet...

"Why is there a crystal ore next to the core?" At first he felt a rush of excitement at seeing the core but seeing this crystal ore sitting on-top of it confused him.

"Oh well, it has to be valuable." No longer thinking of this Victor stored away his loot.

It was at this time that little Skelly had dragged over the dead boss over to Victor.

Seeing that an living skeleton was asking for a reward in front of him, Victor couldn't help but complain that his familiar thought it was a dog or something.

"Yes, yes you did an amazing job." But he still praised it for the hard work, even if it only did one thing.

Crouching down Victor started to search for anything of value on the boss, but there was a big problem...

"This thing doesn't have anything of value, instead the whole thing is a treasure." Victor felt another headache coming on as if he pulled the boss apart then it would only be damaging it.

It stead he would have to take the whole thing after all a old Golem Knight was worth a whole lot, weather that be for research, as a collector item or on the chance of repairing it.

"Well good news I've got another task for you little guy." Victor turned to his dumb familiar with a smile.

As soon as it heard that it's master had another task skelly instantly became excited, but on the outside to on lookers the living skeleton only tilted it's head as it's jaw fell open.

"Your next task is to drag this when we leave and to keep it safe." Victor pointed down at the dead boss and gave little Skelly his next task.

Leaving the excited skeleton alone Victor made his way over to the spear logged into the wall before trying to pull it out with all his strength.

"Heeth..." Only to completely fail not even budging it, Victor looked down at his hands as he felt a little helpless.

Not only were all of the combat skills and training basically useless now but he couldn't do much anymore as he didn't have the required spells yet for proper combat.

"Need help?" Michael saw that Victor seemed to be disappointed in himself at his lack of ability, so he came up behind him to help.

"Yeah... Thank you..." Victor said as his face changed from expressionless to one of helpless and sadness.

"Sigh, you're just limited by your spells, after learning your true strengths will shine, so don't worry about it." Michael said as he gave Victor a strong slap on the back.

"Well... You're right, after we enter the academy I'm going to learn all the spells I can..." Victor said as a new light appeared in his eyes.

"Now then let's get this thing first." Michael said as he grabbed the spear shaft and pulled with his strength.

.... Nothing happened...

"I-It's just stubborn." Michael's face went red as he started to pull with all his strength.

But his cracked ribs hurt forcing him to stop.

"It would seem we will also need to recruit a healer at the academy as well." Victor said before they both spent the next hour trying to pull out the spear, while little Skelly watched on in confusion.
