Chapter 20: [S1] 020 Matters of The Heart and The First Kiss

Chad half propped herself up as Hans behind her finally let go.

Chad was still unconscious, persistently dazed, her mother's death and her father's abuse still seemingly in front of her, her throat unable to make a sound, but her internal organs seemingly aching vaguely.

"What's wrong with you?" Hans looked at her dull face, still laden with tears, and his heart inexplicably seized.

Chad wiped the tear stains from her face with the corner of the quilt scattered aside and gestured faintly, "Dreaming about my parents," Probably because she was still dwelling on the pain of her past, she unconsciously said more than a few words, "because I was mute, my dad hated me and my mum died because of me. "

Hans had never heard of Chad's past, he had thought the girl had been an orphan since she was a child.

He became interested in Chad's words, it seemed the mute had quite a few secrets: "Did you kill your mum?"

"Of course not."

Chad sat up, slipping on his short black boots, and staggered over to the tea table, reaching to pour the water from the teapot.

The water had been boiled by who knows when and was now getting warm, and her hands were shaking so much that half of the water she poured into the cup spilled onto the table.

Hans was unfazed, propped up on the edge of the table with one hand, staring at her with amusement, with no intention of giving her a hand.

He watched her drink the water and then asked, "Can't you pour me a glass? Is this the way the Deputy Head of House treats his guests? Besides, who else would come to see you in this manor but me? You were crying in your dream just now, and I was the one who wiped your tears."

Chad looked at him.

He said this without blushing, as if he had really done something, and Chad felt a little dizzy, not knowing whether it was from anger or from burning.

She drank the cold water to clear her head, then she raised her hand towards Orville, "I'll pour you some water, you drink it and leave, okay?"

Hans shook his head with a wicked grin and met her gaze openly, "I'll leave if you tell me how you 'killed' your mother."

Chad couldn't talk him out of it, so he discreetly poured him a glass of water

Hans took the celadon cup and examined it, the glaze was uneven and it didn't feel good to the touch, the kind of tea set that would never have been in his sight in the old days.

He just lifted it and looked at it, but had no intention of drinking it at all, smiling as he waited for Chad to say something.

Chad hesitated and told Hans all about how she had become mute, how her father had beaten her and her mother, how her mother had broken down, and about her mother's suicide and how her father had finally sold a few silver pieces of her to a human smuggler.

Ghostly, Chad suddenly couldn't believe she said it all.. Maybe it was because Hans was a stranger, or maybe it was because these old wounds were so painful that she wanted to talk to someone. For the first time in ten years, Chad felt somehow relieved to be able to talk about her past.

The corners of Hans' mouth stopped rising at some point, and he didn't gag anymore, just waited for Chad to finish and then began to fall into silence.

Then he said viciously, "You and your mother weren't at fault at all, it was your father who was at fault, and if I were you I would have tortured him as cruelly as I could, then killed him myself."

Chad thought he had spoken a little too harshly and she shook her head, "I don't know if my father is still alive, I don't want to kill him, it's just, it's all in the past."

"In the past?" Hans looked up and Chad saw the paranoid madness in his eyes, "But he ruined your mother's life, his sins must be repaid a thousand times over."

Chad suddenly felt that this Hans was not as bad as he thought, he at least had a sense of good and evil, although it was a little too black and white. And she believed that Hans must have had the same wounds as himself to understand her.

So Chad didn't deny or agree with Hans' statement, just brought over the re-warmed teapot and again from the cupboard and took out the fine buttermilk tea powder he had obtained from the Territory at the previous festival, then brewed a cup of Roo tea and poured it for Hans.

"My father, who had a large house with different wives living in each room, a dozen in all, would visit a few times a year," Hans said with a bitter smile, "and though he gave my mother and me food and shelter, I did not care for him."

"But one day he was dying of old age, and the 'shamans' in the next village said that he can be rejuvenated if he is bathed twice a week in the blood of a young woman of twenty born on a full moon. While my mother 'happens to be' the perfect candidate as blood bath material."

Chad listened in silence, she didn't know how true Hans' words were, but the natural flow of a person doesn't lie as she saw Because she sawHans's watery blue pupils fulling of red-blooded and clenched teeth.

Hans smiled but his expression remained grim: "After that he feared I would hate him and take revenge, drove me out of his house and made another wife's son his heir in my place."

"Is your father still around?" Chad interjected with a question.

"He died in a woman's bed years ago," Hans said with some regret and a frantic expression, "I didn't get to kill him myself, he was the one who died from his own over promiscuity. But the other 'witches', they're well and truly 'in hiding' and I'll be catching and killing them one by one."

Chad commented, "Your mother is so innocent, those people are indeed guilty, but you should take them to court, but not...."

"Take them to court?" What he didn't tell Chad was that his father was the king of previous generation and that some of these 'shamans' were judges and some of them were the heart and soul of the nobility and royalty court .... After Hans finished laughing, he stopped smiling and suddenly the cold light in his eyes pierced straight at Chad: "You don't have to worry about my business."

"You might as well worry about when your cover is blown!" Hans put on his previous cynical expression and looked Hans up and down in an unkind way, causing her to blush.

He suddenly felt it was a waste of his time to talk so much to a mute woman who couldn't even speak, and with her innocent expression of concern, Hans felt offended from the bottom of his heart with the feeling of being underestimated, how could she know and understand the painstaking work behind his back.

Chad didn't want someone with a tragic childhood like his own to misunderstand what he meant and continued to explain under Hans' contemptuous gaze, "What I meant was that your life is more valuable and there is no need to be convicted of murder just to kill some evil person."

Hans was just about to continue his rant, but hearing her say that, he suddenly felt that the mute was honest and kind to the point of stupidity, and that he was like a punch on cotton, and let his anger go.

Without waiting for Hans to say anything, Chad suddenly remembered the cross necklace she had begged for that day at St. Paul's Cathedral, and under Hans' puzzled gaze, she rummaged around in the cowhide bag on the table and emerged with one, shoving it into Hans' hand and then, in sign language, said, "This is the necklace the priest at St. Paul's Cathedral, given to me by the priest, for you, in the hope that you will succeed in your revenge in one piece....while..and retreat in one piece"

Hans looked at the necklace glittering in his hand, stringing with crystal beads and turquoise crosses, and felt that the material was really incomparable to the jewellery in his own coffers that he usually didn't even look at, but somehow it felt like the only and most collectible thing in the world.

He froze, thinking he was under Chad's spell, or else why would he be so out of character these days?, and took his eyes off the necklace, instead, he suddenly met Chad's bright, light maroon eyes.

Ghostly, Hans simply cupped Chad's chin against it, and then leaned his entire body over.

He had kissed countless ladies on the lips, but kissing Chad still made him feel inexplicably nervous and he was in a daze of ecstasy and lust, as if they were the only two people left in the world, his other hand held Chads body as she tried to struggle, stopping her in her arms.

Chad tried in vain to struggle. Hans' aggressive, manly scent surrounded her, and seemed to be a familiar scent. While she couldn't remember because the smell made her head spin and her legs go weak.

Her lips were tightly closed, trembling all over. Filled with unknown fear of the man's fierce attack, while found him licking her lips carefully and deeply.

"Open your mouth." Hans abruptly stopped moving, lowered his head to whisper in her ear, then his breath was turbulent as he stared intently into Chad's flushed face, then began nibbling at her neck.

"Stop it! Uhhhh ...." The sudden rush of hot, wet breath on her neck made Chad speak.

But before she could, she was kissed again.

This time the kiss was more fierce and aggressive, Hans relentlessly attacking her mouth, the soft object invading her mouth and wrapping around her tongue in her mouth.

The heat in her body shot up and Chad wondered what was happening to her, the first time she had felt this way in her seventeen years of life.

As if sensing her hesitation at the moment, Hans deepened the weight of the kiss and began to suck heavily on the nectar in Chad's mouth, their saliva mingling with each other in a tangle of lips and tongues.

The kiss lasted for a long time, the snow had stopped outside, the estate was silent and the only sounds to be heard in Chad's cabin were the slurping and slurping of tongues, the panting of their breath and the sound of their clothes rubbing together.

Finally, Hans let go of Chad, panting, and lifted his head to gaze into the faint candlelight of the room at the lust-stained, tender form of Hans in his arms.

He was the first and only person to see Chad like this, even her life belonged to him. Hans hooked the corners of his mouth at the thought.

Hans was shy and angry, she was still gasping for air, her legs couldn't help but go weak, and if Hans hadn't still been holding onto her she would have been spread out on the floor with weak legs.

"If I knew which one was your father, I would have killed him with my bare hands," Hans smiled, but his expression was much more soothed than it had been just then, less paranoid, so Chad didn't know if what was said was true or not

"Don't..." Chad tried to refuse, though she might not even see his father again.

Chad's breath was disordered and the sign language was a mess "You don't.... Don't make up own mind...!"

"!" Suddenly, Chad was pressed back into bed and Hans forced the covers over her.

Hans didn't respond to Chad's words, the grin on his lips hadn't let go since he'd just finished kissing, and the thick penis, hidden underneath the trousers, was already hot and swollen, about to squeeze out of his trousers.

However he decided to let Chad off the hook for once today.

There's no point in eating all the good food at once.

"Get some rest, you're sick."

"I've ...." The fever was all better because she had just sweated from the scare. Chad was too embarrassed to put her embarrassment out there however, because Hans obviously was familiar with this sort of thing, while she was so embarrassed to have been played like this, so she stayed under the covers and turned her head to the side.

Chad wasn't paying attention, she had more emotions today than she had in the past seventeen years. But Hans saw it all.

So Hans found it just too funny and wouldn't let her go yet, leaning down and staring into her eyes that were red from shame, "You're so stupid, the first time you've kissed someone?"

Chad picked up the pillow in his hand and threw it at him.

Hans caught the pillow without panic and teased with a smile, "A mute's mouth, apart from being hot, doesn't taste any better than anyone else's. What are you going to hold over me when you're this stupid?"

Chad reacted to the fact that this man was a madman, that he was hiding on the roof to spy on her, crashing into her secrets and using them to blackmail and insult her, so she should have hated him with a firm grudge.

But because talking about his parents resonated with her, she was inexplicably led by him. So Chad turned her head away and stopped looking at him.

Seeing her like that, Hans smiled and cupped Chad's chin back and kissed her a few more times, gently this time.

He just wanted to see what her expression was.

He then had the satisfaction of seeing Chad's almost red face and the tears that were spilling out of the corners of his eyes because he was holding it in.

Hans wanted to continue the action, however just then there was a sudden knock on the door of Chad's room, and then Lionel's voice rang out from the door, "Chad?"
