The Duke of Ackerman's ancestors were among the oldest of the great nobility since the founding of the country, and he was also the brother of Queen dowager, the King of Wales, even the current King had to be wary of him.
Chad bowed in his direction in a dignified manner, seeing he did not respond, she bowed her head and tried to move away from the side of the knight who was blocking her way.
Ackerman waved his right hand to the side and the knight in front of Chad immediately stepped forward.
The knight in front of Chad immediately stepped forward, tugging Chad by the collar and forcing him to stop.
"Are you allowed to go?" Duke Ackerman gave him a sidelong glance, with another raise of his hand
The knight behind him immediately overturned the tray of gold coins in his hands to the ground, the gold coins with the king's portrait rolled to the ground.
"Someone protect me," Ackerman said, his voice was so loud just like a bell.
"This man trailed me all the way to the church, and he even has been ambushed in the church with the intention of assassination. Kill him for me!"
At his command, the knights before Chad immediately clanged, immediately pulled his sword out of his pouch and the cold light reflected on Chad's face.
Chad's right foot hit the ground hard to lend strength and she rolled nimbly through the air, then landed firmly on the face of the man's drawn sword.
She was able to block the man's next move, but mmediately afterwards, the knights gathered around the edge of the room rushed up with their weapons in hand.
Chad took the scimitar in his hand, dodged and raised his foot, sliding the tip of the blade into the knight in front of him, the man was so startled that he fell over.
But Chad suddenly turned the blade and stabbed the man in the wrist, with a harsh "Ah...!"
A glowing sword is thrown into the air, Chad flipped over and caught it firmly, then the other knights were scrambling to get at Chad with their swords.
Even though Chad was a skilled swordsman, she was overwhelmed by the number of enemies, was still a little overwhelmed, however, the speed with which she swung her sword did not diminish.
At this point, in the gaps between the swords she was swinging at. Suddenly she saw the Duke of Ackerman's mouth curl in a strange manner.
A large amount of sweat continued to break out from Chad's forehead.
Just then
"Clang!" There was a clang, several longswords came together and knocked her sword away.
Chad could only draw her scimitar and continue to struggle against the blades raining down on her.
She began to lose ground to her opponent, was slowly losing ground.
Then a long sword suddenly came at her!
Chad's hair stood on end because of nervous, Chad's ten years of experience as a knight has allowed her to sense when an enemy is coming from any direction.
But this time, with one against six, she had a wolf in front of her and a tiger at her back, it was too distracted.
Just then
A sensitive dagger scraped through the sky, which dagger was small but it shattered Chad's hardened steel sword behind her.
Then many more daggers shot out from all directions, and the firing paths evaded Chad magically, were only fired at the knights who attacked her.
The Duke of Ackerman also spotted the daggers coming at him, so he quickly hid behind a tree.
The knights, seeing their master in distress, rushed towards the Duke of Ackerman, but the duke cursed, "Stay back, don't let him get away!"
At that moment, turning around, Chad was running towards the other side of the forest.
It was winter and the plants were dead, her tracks were easily spotted.
"Chase him, if you leave him alive, you will be the ones who die," said Duke Ackerman, pulling out his own sword hanging from his belt and knocking down the flying dagger for himself.
At this point the knights got their orders, went after Chad in the direction he had gone.
The man who had shot the dagger was hiding somewhere, turned it around and shot it at the knight who had gone after Chad.
And this time it was a fatal shot, by the time Chad had run off without a trace, the knights had fallen in a heap in the snow.
And the Duke of Ackerman had already run away without a trace
The woods were quiet again, when a dark figure suddenly swept through the trees, as deft as a black cat.
*
Half an hour later, lancaster territory.
Orville's study.
It was getting late and the sun was sinking, while the sky was grey and dull, looked as if snow is about to fall again.
Orville looks out of the window at the snow falling from the pine trees, his long, slender fingers play with the handwritten letter that 20 has just thrown on his desk.
In the light of the candlelight, the expression on his face was dark and uncertain.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps came round the courtyard.
The servant informed him that Chad had returned.
The Duke nodded and gestured for them to open the door for her.
The door opened and Chad appeared in the doorway in a slight state of disarray, her normally smooth and pretty face was now scuffed and skinned, some grass clippings clung to it, while the knight's uniform she had worn earlier in the day was in tatters.
"What's wrong?" Orville was still slouching, "Dirty like this."
Chad dropped to one knee and spoke nervously: "My Lord, I was just ambushed by Duke Ackerman!"
"Oh?" Orville pretended to be surprised and changed his face slightly, but that little emotion was fleeting as he rose to his feet, "When was it?"
"About an hour or so ago," Chad continued in sign language, "Just now Duke Ackerman tried to kill me on the grounds that he thought I intended to commit an assassination."
Orville didn't say anything and looked towards Chad, then with a sneer, "How can he deserve to have the my personal knight take his life?"
Chad unhooked the family crest for Ackerman from his belt, which he had just ripped off a knight in the confusion, respectfully and placed it on the table.
As he approached the Duke, with a sudden, quick gesture, "There's something I need to talk to the Duke about alone, about Duke Ackerman."
Orville gave a suspicious look and told the servant at his side to remove the meal from his table, ordered them not to come in for an hour.
When they were alone in the room, Chad said seriously, "I suspect this Duke is a fake," he said and handed Orville a lock of flaxen hair, "There's a new priest in the church.
This is the one that I, in my confusion, got from the 'Duke of Ackerman's' loose hair set low, and i cut it off secretly with a dagger. Besides, at Elaine's last trial, Duke Ackerman was in a very bad state of mind, had lost a lot of weight, while this man was fit."
Orville pondered for a moment, pretending to be the Duke of Ackerman and wearing Ackerman's clothes, it was so much like his own trick that was clearly an attempt to frame someone else.
The man behind it, was also a disguise artist, while in the entire Imperial City, only he and the young emperor had learnt this trick from their mother.
If he was one of the Emperor's men, what was his reason for doing so?
Orville looked up at Chad, who looked nervous. Had Chad lied?
"Don't tell anyone about this," Orville squeezed Chad's shoulder, Chad gave a quick nod.
Orville stared for a moment at the "Ackerman family crest" Chad had seized on the table, then he took the letter out of the drawer and wrote a few words about Chad's bullying today, while not a word about the difference of Ackerman, but to complain to the king that the Duke of Ackerman would like to kill his own men just because the poor Orville had convicting her daughter
In the end, Orville didn't forget to ask the king to remember the Duke of Ackerman's domineering ways today and expresses to the king the danger he is in as a loyal subject, what's more, he expresses his loyalty.
"Chad, send this letter out to the pigeons who correspond with the royal family,"
Orville slipped the "Ackerman family crest" into the envelope and gave it to Chad.
