Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Crookshanks and Firebolt

Mrs. Greengrass helplessly glared at Astoria.

"Why are you hiding behind someone else like that? It's so rude!"

Astoria stuck out her tongue and ran to her mother, pleading coquettishly, "Mom, are you not mad at me anymore?"

Mrs. Greengrass gently tapped her daughter's forehead and said slightly annoyed, "Next time, if you want to go out with Mr. Gaunt, just tell me directly. There's no need to lie."

After hearing her mother's words, the young witch cheered and threw herself into her mother's embrace.

Gently patting her daughter's back, Mrs. Greengrass told her to go rest while she had something to discuss with Arthur.

After Astoria and Daphne left, Madam Greengrass began speaking to Arthur, expressing her gratitude for saving Astoria last year.

"Thank you for saving Astoria last year."

"You're too kind, Mrs. Greengrass. Astoria is also my good friend."

After exchanging these nice words, Mrs. Greengrass's expression became worried.

"You know about the curse on Astoria. I've heard that Mr. Gaunt, you have exceptional skills in alchemy. I wonder if there is any way you can help her?"

Arthur understood the purpose of being left alone with him. He nodded gently, "Mrs. Greengrass, I can indeed solve the curse, but it will take some time."

Hearing this, Mrs. Greengrass became excited and expressed her gratitude repeatedly.

Arthur told her that he would take care of Astoria even if she didn't ask him to because he couldn't stand to see such a sweet little girl suffer from a curse.

After a brief conversation, Arthur bid farewell and left.

Back at home, Arthur didn't do much else. After freshening up, he went to bed.

...

The next day, Arthur went to Diagon Alley with Hermione and Cho.

They not only needed to buy books and supplies for school, but also Arthur wanted to buy an early birthday gift for Hermione.

After two years at school, Hermione still didn't have a pet, so Arthur decided to give her the same Crookshanks cat in the original book.

Sure enough, when the three entered the pet shop, Hermione's eyes immediately locked onto a large ginger cat.

She walked up to the cat, who would normally ignore all customers, and She meowed at Hermione twice.

"Her fur is truly beautiful, isn't it?"

Hermione happily said to Arthur and gently stroked the cat's back.

"If you like it, then buy it. I feel like her color suits you well."

Arthur replied with a smile. He had just checked, and yes, it was a female cat.

However, he didn't particularly like cats himself, as they shed too much hair, which he couldn't stand due to his slight cleanliness OCD.

Hermione nodded, and Arthur went to the shopkeeper to pay while also purchasing some pet supplies and food.

Especially the food, as Arthur didn't expect that Furry would love them so much.

She wanted to eat some every day, and her phoenix dignity was almost lost.

After leaving the store, Hermione held the ginger cat in her arms and named her Crookshanks.

"Let's go check out the newly opened shop next to Flourish and Blotts. I heard they also sell broomsticks there."

Cho suggested, and the other two nodded in agreement.

Actually, Arthur knew what they sold there and had prepared a surprise for Cho.

However, when they arrived and stood at the entrance, they saw a familiar figure.

"Harry!"

Arthur called out from across the street, and a young wizard who had been leaning against the window of a shop turned his head and looked over.

When Harry saw it was Arthur and the others, he smiled brightly.

As Arthur and the others approached him, Harry greeted them with a smile, "What a coincidence, Arthur. I didn't expect to see you all here. Hello, Hermione and Cho."

"What were you looking at that got you so fascinated?"

Arthur asked after noticing that Harry had almost pressed his eyes against the glass.

Harry pointed inside the shop and excitedly introduced, "That new broomstick, Firebolt."

On a special display counter inside the shop, a broomstick made of Ebony wood was quietly placed.

The design and curves were very elegant, and it was polished to a shiny finish.

"This broomstick is so beautiful!"

Cho couldn't help but admire, and Harry nodded repeatedly.

However, Hermione didn't have much of a reaction, as she wasn't really interested in Quidditch and flying.

"Since you like it, let's go inside and take a look."

Arthur smiled mysteriously and led the group inside the shop.

By now, there were already many wizards gathered around the Firebolt, so Arthur secretly used magic to clear a path.

Seeing the sign below the broomstick that said "National Team Matches Only, Price Negotiable," Harry couldn't help but shed tears of poverty.

He had been coming to Diagon Alley almost every day to catch a glimpse of this broomstick, but he never had the courage to come inside and check the price.

Today, Arthur shattered his fantasy.

Cho also couldn't take her eyes off the Firebolt, her eyes filled with love.

Arthur looked around and found a shop assistant. He then asked the assistant to call the owner.

The assistant brought over a middle-aged witch in her forties.

When she saw Arthur, she immediately walked up and warmly said, "Mr. Gaunt, welcome. The two Firebolts you ordered were delivered the day before yesterday. We specially prioritized your order by pushing aside orders from Bulgaria."

Arthur nodded. Before he could say anything, Harry exclaimed, "Arthur, you ordered Firebolts? Two of them!"

"Yeah, exactly. One for me and one for Cho. This broomstick looks much better than the Nimbus series," Arthur said with a touch of arrogance.

Cho covered her mouth in shock while Harry's eyes turned red with envy.

He wished he could experience a sex-change operation. By the way, does the wizarding world have a potion for permanent gender transformation?

If he were a girl, would Arthur...
