Chapter 31: Chapter 31. Red clouds
"So in a week?" Hiashi asked as they had talked for fifteen minutes about the marriage matter.
"Yes, next Saturday. We'll invite all the major clans and have a big ceremony." Oden said.
"I wouldn't have believed you to be the party type," Hiashi asked.
"Not really, but with our status as the princess and prince of the two strongest clans in Konoha, we need to follow some formalities." Oden said with a sigh, he didn't like parties.
Hinata was looking down, not making a peep as she only got redder and redder as the talk went on.
She had realized during the last chunin exam, after she defeated her opponent that the first person she looked for was Oden... she realized at that point that he had become someone very important to him.
"As the patriarch of Hyuga, I need to ask again, what if your children inherit the Byakugan?" Hiashi asked.
"As I told you before, they won't." Oden said. Hiashi felt like Oden was too confident about matters that weren't in his hands.
"How can you be so sure?" Hiashi asked.
"We have many documents in our Clan, that prove that both Uchiha and Hyuga have married into our Clan multiple times before. But their genes became recessive, and none of your Dojutsu have shown itself." Oden explained.
"Impossible, how could I be unaware of that." Hiashi retorted.
"Yes, very few from our clans interacted during the Warring States Period and fell in love. Because of your strict rules... they faked their own death before creating new identities to marry my ancestors, I think the last one was called Touka Zaraki... No, Touka Hyuga, she faked her 'death' ten years before the village was created. Look into your documents and you should have her name there somewhere." Oden said.
"The same goes for Uchiha, although there were only a few throughout history, it still happened. I might even have Hyuga and Uchiha blood in my vein, yet your lineage can never dominate mine." Oden said assuredly, seeing the uncertainty on Hiashi's face.
After they had their last discussion, Hiashi returned to his clan, while Hinata chose to stay.
Oden had also finished his Hokage work but seeing the look of adoration on Hinata's face as he was sitting on the Hokage seat with the Hokage hat on, he couldn't help but want to stay for a bit longer.
Suddenly Oden's eyebrows furrowed as he felt two powerful, yet unfamiliar chakra signatures in Konoha. He also felt Kurenai, Asuma, and Kakashi there.
'hmm, what's going on? I don't remember something like this happening...' Oden thought.
Hinata was sitting and just watching Oden working, she couldn't help but feel that he is very cool whenever he moved a piece of paper or sharpened his pencil... for some reason it seemed like he didn't have much to do, yet everything he did was appreciated by Hinata.
'Now I understand why the girls were so obsessed with Sasuke saying he was cool no matter what he did...' Hinata finally understood the dao of fangirling.
Suddenly she saw his brows furrow as if something had happened, and she got ready to fight in case the danger was close by.
Both Hinata and Oden just sat there, as if waiting for something, and about ten seconds later an anbu appeared inside the office.
"Hokage-Sama, two suspicious strangers arrived in Konoha, Kakashi follows them and might be in direct contact with them as we speak." The Anbu made his intention clear.
"It's fine I'll take care of it. Stay behind Hinata and make sure she is safe." Oden said as he stood up, ready to handle any problem that might arise.
Both the Anbu and Hinata felt like there wasn't any problem Oden couldn't handle as he was oozing confidence, they were also aware of his history with fighting strong opponents so instead of worrying they felt safe.
"Yes sir." The anbu said as he disappeared.
"Alright Hinata, I'll see you later," Oden said as he made two shadow clones to act in his stead while he handled the two problems that had infiltrated Konoha.
'See me later...? Does he want me to go to his house?' Hinata thought to herself as she became pink out of shyness.
The clones stared at her as she left the office as well.
"Why did she become so pink after speaking to the original body?" One clone asked the other.
"Hmm... you think we're in danger?" the other asked.
"Maybe... we might be overthinking...."
"Maybe..."
Oden had run at full speed towards the east where the intruders were.
On the east side of Konoha, a river ran through Konoha, it flowed from the Forrest of Death which was north/east of Konoha towards the south of Konoha.
The Konoha Hokage tower was in the northern part of Konoha right belove the carved faces of past Hokages.
Oden finally arrived at where the chakra signature where and found Two black-cloaked figures with straw hats on their heads. Both standing on the river.
Might Guy stood in front of them ready to attack with the help of Asuma.
Kakashi seemed to have run out of gas as Kurenai was about to pick him up and run for help.
They felt the arrival of another person and turned around to Oden in his shinobi clothes and haori that was fluttering in the wind. His Hokage hat hid his eyes.
As they realized that Oden had arrived, they lit up in relief.
"Hokage-sama, they are two S-rank missing-nin, Uchiha Itachi and Hoshigaki Kisame, be careful." Kurenai warned Oden.
Even though Oden was strong, could he take on two kage-level fighters?
"Don't worry, Might Guy, you and Asuma take on the fish, and I'll take care of Itachi." Oden said without sparing Kisame a look.
"You bastard, it seems like you want to get ripped to shreds!" Kisame roared in anger.
"Calm down, He's very strong. Remember our mission, we can't stay here and start a war." Itachi said.
"That's sadly not up to you, inside this village, I'm the one that decides who goes where. Kurenai take the weak-minded Hatake away, he'll only be a burden as he is now." Oden said, insulting Kakashi's pride at the same time.
"Let's retreat!" Itachi said as he got ready to run away, but sadly Oden wanted to have a talk, fist-to-fist that is.
Oden appeared beside Kisame and before he could react he got kicked in the ribs so hard that he flew towards Might Guy and Asuma.
Then without faltering, he ran towards Itachi while making hand seals, creating water spikes that pierced Itachi.
Sadly Itachi wasn't a pushover himself, even Orochimaru had once admitted that Itachi was stronger than him.
As the water spikes pierced Itachi, his body dissolved into crows that flew away.
Oden simply pointed his finger backward without looking and created a SasuHari that shot towards Itachi that had arrived right there.
