The clatter of carriages and horse hooves made by the armed convoy darted across the farmsteads surrounding the Raven's Nest. Serfs working on the fields tried to catch a glimpse of the mounted retinue, but their gazes did not linger, instead pouring their attention to the fields of wheat and barley they ought to harvest. The road to the castle was paved with cobblestones, flanked by a stretch of crop fields and a few trees dotting it. Meanwhile, inside one of the carriages, a tall, pale-faced and red-haired woman with an ample bosom was sat, eyes loitering outside the carriage window, yet ever so careful to avoid the sunlight reaching her being. Lady Czafira Wallach of House Bloodfallen remained in an idle state, her supple fingertips grasping a feathered hat, whilst contemplating deeply. Opposite to her was a young maiden, or at least by appearance, garbed in a dark hooded robe, daggers and knives concealed beneath.
