Chapter 45: Making a Name

Scarlett thought Sylvia was being ridiculous, not because she had tangled with Easton, but because, in Scarlett's opinion, anyone who obsessively clings to their ex after a breakup is just plain silly.

In front of a crowd, Easton looked annoyed, while Sylvia was mortified. She must have been aware of how she appeared, which only made it harder for her to back down, dragging everyone into her messy drama.

Once Easton's initial fury subsided, he regained his composure. He pulled up a chair and sat about a meter away from the long table, casting a cold glance at Sylvia across from him. "Alright, if you don't mind making a spectacle of yourself, then let's lay it all out today. What's your game?"

What's truly terrifying is not a man's anger, but his cold indifference. He was looking at her not just as if she were a stranger, but as if she were something repugnant.

Sylvia was cut to the core by his gaze, a sour taste swirling in her mouth and heart. She was at a loss for words.
