Chapter 149: A sister's love

"Ethan, what happened here?!" Lisa's urgent voice echoed through the room as her trembling hand reached out, coming to rest on the edge of the bed. Her face was etched with a mix of fear and worry, deeply concerned for her brother.

Ethan's eyes widened in terror upon catching sight of his distressed sister. Reacting instinctively, he let out a fearful cry and swiftly threw off the blanket that covered him, determined to make his escape. His heart pounded as he rushed towards the door.

However, fate had other plans. Unbeknownst to Ethan, a treacherous spill of food lay in his path, making the floor slippery and treacherous. 

The moment his feet touched the ground, he lost his footing, tumbling forward with a resounding crash. His jaw collided with the ground, adding an unfortunate injury to his already tense situation.
