Chapter 138: Something was wrong

Something was deeply wrong; Declan could tell the moment he got home and found it empty. Mia hadn't informed him that she was going anywhere, and her phone number wasn't reachable. He rushed to her room to check if any of her luggage was missing. It wasn't the first time she had disappeared, but this time, all her luggage was still there.

Deciding to do other things while waiting for her, he considered the possibility that her phone might have been disconnected. He took out his phone to try her number again, but there was still no response from her side.

He closed his eyes and decided to wait for her call. Hours later, after finishing some new code and making progress on his project, his phone rang. He picked it up and was surprised to see that it was Alexis calling.

Since Alexis had started working with Mia, she rarely called him anymore, and he didn't mind. Her sudden call, however, made him anxious.
