Chapter 71: Intruder

"Congratulations, Wifey. Wish you the best at your new agency." Jack's message left Mia staring at her phone for another ten minutes. She hadn't told anyone about the agency except Declan, yet Jack already knew. She turned around, glancing in every direction suspiciously.

Did he have her followed? She wouldn't put anything past him. He had been surprising her lately; he was different from the man she had married. How else could he have gotten the news so fast?

"Are you looking for something?" Alexis asked, interrupting her search for an invisible spy. Mia shook her head. "No, I'm okay. Let's go."

The ride back to the apartment was filled with chatter. Mia and Alexis talked about everything they could think of to pass the time, especially their first victory. Alexis tried to persuade Mia to celebrate with her, but she wanted to celebrate with Declan first.
