Boarding(1)

The early morning activity was scarce and there was peace brought about by the lack of military antics that occurred on day-to-day on the military campus. However, despite the peace Casimir had abruptly awoken from his slumber, disturbed by inner turmoil. He got up from his bed and searched for his communication device. When he checked the time, he found he had woken up an hour before their expected wake-up time. His head hurt and his eyelids recoiled from the sudden exposure to light after having been shut during his sleep.

He had experienced another nightmare after trying to fall asleep again. It was the third one that morning and each of them subsequently got much more terrifying and dreadful than their predecessor. The brief moment where his mind was trying to wake up and adjust its pace to match that of his body was not so brief this time and he almost stumbled off of his bed. Since he woke up early, he decided to take care of his own personal matters, he opened his glyph and had a quick glance at it.

Name: Casimir Nagid

Soul Core rank: I

Origin [Primus]: Arcadia's ruin

Artifacts: [Iron maiden][Gedeon's ichor][Tranquillity][Gedeon's tome][Cestane Spear][Brilliant crescent]

Ether: [188/1000]

He was aware that the majority of resources that they would personally obtain during their campaign would go to the military and he'd only receive commission on a fair few kills. He didn't know how the military would track and ensure that this would happen, but he decided he wouldn't try to take advantage of any loophole that may be there regarding this issue. He was still trying to gain favour and he knew that down the line with more campaigns he would receive even more benefits should he prove to be trustworthy.

He got up from his bed and picked up his communication device. He began to pack his stuff into the satchel he had received down at the armoury. He didn't have much stuff so it was a short endeavor. When he was done, he sat down on his bed and began to cycle his ether. Techniques regarding the use of ether were not, for the most part, kept classified and this was simply because they didn't give that much of an advantage. If the usage was generally employed in the same manner for every aspect of an origin's abilities and cycling it differently produced the same results then there wasn't a need to do it vastly differently. Things of course would differ depending on the grade of the origin, Casimir's origin being a prime example where since it was overwhelmingly powerful within its rank, it came with a devastating price for its use and its abilities.

Time went by as he cycled his ether quietly waiting for time to pass and reach their waking-up time. When it did eventually arrive, one of their officers had already entered the building and began waking up the cadets. Casimir left his room with his luggage and made his way down. It seemed like he wasn't the only one who had woken up a fair few minutes before their waking-up time, albeit for different reasons. Several cadets had already begun making their way down, so hallways were already packed. There wasn't as much noise this time, probably because it was the morning so they walked quietly.

On his way down he met Oliver and they walked quietly to their allotted vehicle. During the conversation yesterday with Officer Evelyn, she reminded them to check their communication devices to find out which vehicle their squad would occupy. Their vehicle was the fourth one of the convoy and it didn't take them time to get there. Quietly and quickly their numbers increased as cadets made their way to their respective vehicles. The morning air was a bit cooler than usual and that meant something. After awakening Casimir had become more resistant to the fluctuations in environmental conditions as compared to the regular human so when environmental conditions could grab his attention it meant something.

When the rest of the cadets belonging to their squad had arrived Officer Margaret, the brown-eyed brunette, began ushering them Towards the loadout box for them to place all their baggage. Oscar and Michelle had arrived after Casimir and Oliver and joined up with them but didn't say a thing, only nodded to each other in acknowledgement. Casimir appreciated their efforts to preserve good morning peace and responded with clear enthusiasm to today's greetings.

When they had finished packing their luggage they returned to the entrance of the vehicle and stood in a single file with their hands in the natural position for a Cestane salutation. They awaited the briefing. Officer Evelyn along with Officer Bennett had arrived after packing their own things. They returned to the door front and stood with Officer Margaret. Officer Bennett was taller than his two colleagues and even for a man was much more burly than most, so to see the clipboard and the delicate-looking pen in his gargantuan hands was comical but none of the cadets did anything to express their humour. At least not in front of the intimidating officer. Officer Bennett began addressing the group.

"Morning cadets, it is my pleasure to be here I am Officer Bennett, this is Officer Margaret and you're all familiar with Officer Evelyn we are your commanding officers for this campaign and you shall refer to us as captains. We will ensure your campaign goes smoothly to the best of our abilities however for that to occur we ask for your full cooperation. Before we go I shall take a roll call and before that, I shall tell you of our path towards the blood savannah. We shall pass through a small fortification near the capital and receive some more environment-oriented equipment and then we shall continue towards the blood savannah along the river Sherith. Group One is our vanguard group two is our scout team, Group 3 shall be supports and rearguard, I trust you of all checked your communication devices to know which groups you are in I shall now begin the roll call

Officer Bennett went on with the roll call and was pleased to find no one was absent from the group. They cleared the first hurdle smoothly but much more was still to come.
