(flashback: young Jack and his big sister Debbie)
It was a beautiful sunny day and Jack was excited to be spending it at the beach with his big sister, Emma. Debbie was 12 years old and Jack was only 8, but that didn't stop him from trying to keep up with his sister.
As soon as they arrived at the beach, Jack rushed to the water and started to jump over the waves. Debbie followed him and they quickly began to splash around in the cool, refreshing water. Jack was laughing and shrieking in excitement while Debbie watched over him making sure he was safe.
After playing in the water for a while, Debbie suggested that they build a sandcastle. Jack loved building things so he was more than happy to help.
Debbie showed Jack how to fill a bucket with sand, turn the bucket over, and tap the bottom to make a pile of sand. They repeated this process again and again until they had a small pile of sand.
Debbie then started to shape the sand into a castle, and Jack watched closely, fascinated. He started to scoop up sand with his own bucket and tried to make his own mini-castle next to Debbie's. Debbie encouraged him, telling him how great it looked, which gave Jack a big smile.
As they worked on their sandcastles, Debbie and Jack talked and laughed, enjoying the time they were spending together. They even had a little competition to see who could make the biggest tower. Jack won of course, and Debbie didn't mind because she was just happy to be having fun with her little brother.
After finishing the sandcastles and admiring their handiwork, Debbie suggested that they play a game of frisbee. Jack had never played before, but Debbie taught him how to throw and catch. They ran around on the beach, tossing the frisbee back and forth and having a great time.
As the day began to wind down and the sun started to set, Jack felt happy and worn out. He had spent the day playing with his big sister and had had an amazing time. He knew that he was lucky to have such a cool and caring sister, and he couldn't wait to come back to the beach with her again.
(End of flashback)
This beach was one of her favorite hangout with him and he loved to follow his sister around.
Jack broke down in the car, tears rushed down his eyes freely, "I am sorry Debbie, I shouldn't have allowed it. I should have told Camily to shut up but I didn't. I thought you will get pass it. I thought..." He couldn't complete his words as he sobbed out.
He felt guilty for his sister's death and blames himself, it was as if a million needles were piercing his heart, "if only I had spoke out that day, maybe you would have been alive and maybe you would have been a mother with litters of children playing around the house." He laughed grimly, "but I was an idiot, I saw you but I did nothing just like a fool."
He shivered violently from the breeze coming from the beach but he didn't mind, his mind was consumed with guilt, anger and pain as he cried the more.
