19: Intruder

—— Bryan's P.O.V ———

"~Sigh" I have lived this life for nearly a century, and never sighed as much I did today, but it's not like I can do anything about it.
"Why are you here, or better how did you get here?" I questioned my beautiful intruder.
"I already told you that I came to see you" She replied with an innocent smile, and I rolled my eyes at her reply.
"Yeah, sure" I dryly said to her.
"And as for how I got here, lets just say I asked someone from Avengers headquarters" Wanda said, causing me to narrow my eyes at her. Seeing that I'm not believing her, she spoke again but with slight blush on her face.
"I might have charmed someone" Wanda confessed while avoiding eye contact.
"Someone?" I do not believe some random worker know my location. And just as Wanda was going to tell me who she charmed, my doorbell rang, causing me to stop staring and move to open the door, but I can feel Wanda's gaze on my back.
"Yes" I question the black suited man standing outside my doorstep.
"Sir, my name is John Anderson, I have been working here for 19 years, my nine years old son is a big fan of yours, can I get a picture with you and an autograph for him Sir, of course if its okay with you." The man started fine but visibly got nervous after I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Hmm go ahead." I accepted his request, but I can feel Wanda's gaze that has slight judgment. Looking back, I sent a telepathic message to her.
'This does not prove anything, the guy has been working here for nearly two decades, I still don't believe some random worker knows my location.'
After taking a picture and signing an autograph on it for John's son, I closed the door and turned around, only to face a smiling Wanda.
"What?"
"You might not know it, but after the Chitauri Invasion, your house address kinda became an open secret, every former high ranking Shield member knows it but they just don't openly talk about it" Wanda says to me, and to prove her right I heard another bell-ring.
I opened the door and saw another agent standing there. turning back my head to Wanda, and I mouthed a silent 'Really' which she answered with mischievous smile.
"What? You want a picture too" I asked the nervous young, but my straightforward question and rushed tone only sacred the man more.
"Yes Sir" He said and handed me the camera while bowing ninety degrees. What are you? A Japanese harem protagonist? I groaned slightly, But I still didn't refuse the guy and accepted the Camera.
"You guys also want a photo" I shouted at the guys hiding behind the trees clumsily. Their hiding skills tells me why they are stationed here.
It did not take long for them stumbled toward the door.
"So, who's taking the picture?" I questioned them as we prepared for a group photo, seeing no one coming forward, I sighed and was just going use Telekinesis to click the picture, but Wanda's voice ruined the plan
"I can do that." Wanda's voice made them all turn their heads towards door and released a collective gasps. I can already see the gears of their brains churning. I looked at her with my forehead narrowing in a frown, but she just smiled and approached us.
"Sure" Seeing her ignore my eyes, I threw the camera at her.
"Say cheese~" Wanda said after positioning the camera, and I with the rest of the group followed her instruction.
"Ahh Bryan your eyes got closed, we have take another" Wanda innocently said which made my lips twitch. After taking few more pictures, we finally returned inside the house.
"Why are you still following me" I stopped and looked back.
"You still haven't answered my question" Instead of answering, Wanda questioned back.
"Yes, I'm going to a talk show, and No, I will not take you with me. Now that you have your answer you can leave" I told her and started walking again.
Wanda stopped following, and just as I thought she would leave, she said something that made me halt.
"I know why you saved us-no you saved me!!" Her sudden exclamation made turned towards her again.
"Ohh and why's that?" I questioned and started slowly walking towards her
"Sh-she looks like me" Wanda backed off after seeing me approach her, she only stopped when her back hit the wall.
"She? She who?" I finally reached her, my six four height towering over her five six.
"Your wife Elizabeth, she looked like me" Wanda nervously said, as I place my hand on the wall while leaning down to her eye level.
"And who told you that" I whispered in her ear and I can feel her shudder.
"A kind bald lady told me" Wanda's words caused me to cuss Yao inwardly.
"She did? And how did you meet her exactly" I whispered again.
"She came to see me after we defeated the Ultron, and offered an apprenticeship under her, saying I have very high potential in Mystic Arts. Of course I didn't believed her first, but after she told me that she's your only friend and showed a photo of her and you, I accepted her offer." Wanda explained, her eyes looked me with pity when the only friend part got mention.
"Yes, you look like my wife, and Yes I only saved you because you look like her. Are you happy now, please leave." I walked back and went towards the kitchen to make a strong latte.
"But I don't want to" Wanda shouted, her voice sounding a childish.
"You don't want to my a*s, if you don't leave now, I will throw you out myself, and let me warn you, it will not be pretty." I warned her.
"You can try" Wanda muttered under her breath.
"What did you said?" I questioned and pretended to not hear her.
"I said you won't throw me out" Wanda said in a confident tone causing me to scoff at her.
"Woman, you're playing with forces beyond your ken" I quoted Sheldon Cooper's threat to her.
"Even if I am, I'm hundred percent sure this force will not harm me" Wanda said with a smirk and crossed her arms below her bosom, highlighting them a bit. Ohh really, let me teach you then.
Appearing behind her, I lifted her up like a wild cat and threw her out of the door. After shutting the door I turned back only to see a Elderitch portal opening up in my corridor
"So, this is how you entered the house huh" I closed the portal, and placed a space lock around my house.
I know it's temporary, and I cannot avoid her for much longer, but first I have to meet Yao.

——— Kamar Taj, 2015 ——

I teleported directly inside Yao's study room like I always do, and saw her sitting with two cup teas, already expecting my arrival even if she can't see future related to me.
"Why are you doing this" I asked Yao while sitting parallel to her.
Yao didn't said anything instead brought out an extremely old chessboard.
"I'm not here to play Yao, just answer the damn question." Yao still didn't say anything and moved the white pawn two blocks ahead.
"Bryan, you know why I'm doing this" Yao finally said something after seeing my thinning patience.
"Yeah I know that but I also told you I'll handle it"
"Yes, you did but I still don't understand how you are doing the exact opposite to what you said." Yao said and her eyes not leaving the chessboard.
"What are you talking about, I already stopped looking after her like I said I would." I questioned her and finally moved black piece.
Yao didn't brought my lie, and finally looked at me, with a judgemental eyes.
"Fine, I did kept a eye on her during the whole Ultron thing and saved her brother." Yao's eyes returned back to the board, and she moved another pawn freeing the path for both her queen and bishop.
"Bryan stop it, the only one you're fooling is yourself, if you wanted, you could have easily avoided making any contact with the little witch." Yao sharply replied after I moved my second pawn.
"~Sigh, it's hard Yao, my mind says something but my body does the exact opposite" I told her and watched as Yao moved the white queen, gave me a check from the gap moving the black pawn made.
"Check. If it's too hard then just accept her, and be done with it, why make this pointlessly long for both you and her." Yao asked and I moved my bishop to block the check.
"Let's wait some more and see where it goes, cause I don't think it's the right time." I replied to her, as she moved her queen to all the way to the other side of the board.
"Time? What are you talking about Bryan, from my experience, the more time you take the more complicated it will get" Yao's word made me bit annoyed.
"Then why are you taking your time with Strange, just invite him to Kamar Taj, and train him to become the next sorcerer supreme. No you cannot do that because he will not be the same Strange that will come to the kamar taj next year, the current Strange will not have the same drive as the crippled future Strange." I sharply questioned Yao, with my voice raised slightly. Seeing her flinch little at the mention of strange, I felt bad, so I decided to tell her the real reason why I'm avoiding Wanda, or at least what I think is the reason.
"~ Sigh, I didn't tell you Yao, but I plan to leave this universe, and with the amount of universe out there I might never return again." I told Yao whose hand froze, still holding the queen.
Yao took a deep breath then she placed her queen back and looked in my eyes.
"I believe you should tell her, and wait for her to decide whether she wants to come with you or stays with her brother and new friends." Yao said, and this time it was me who froze. Not from the shock, no, but from how simple it is, and now that I think, I'm the one making this complicated, I just have tell Wanda and let her decide.
"I think you are right" I said and this caused her to smirk at me.
"I think you have something else to do Bryan" Yao said, as she puts back the chessboard .
"Now?" I questioned her.
"As the famous Indian saying goes "Kaal Kare So Aaj Kar, Aaj Kare So Ub Pal Mein Pralaya Hoyegi, Bahuri Karoge Kub; Meaning, Tomorrows work do today, today's work now If the moment is lost, how will the work be done?", I think you should go now and tell her" Yao said with a smile.
"Okay I'm going, but I don't think I will find Wanda around my house" I said and teleported above my house.
And I was wrong again, I found Wanda sitting on the ground drenched from the rain.
"You still here?" I questioned. Wanda immediately looked up and tried to say something but instead a cute sneeze came out, which made chuckle. Landing near Wanda I covered her with my warm coat, and shielded her from the rain.
Wanda looked confused with my sudden change of behaviour, but I don't blame her, it's seems living in Forks also gave me the same mood swinging habits of the disco-light, mind reading vampire.
" Lets go inside, lest you want to catch a flu" I said and dragged the still confused Wanda inside the house.
