Chapter 34: Shaping a core

Lucas was now standing inside the teleportation magic array, meditating while he was surrounded by numerous papers and books to entertain himself. He didn't plan to leave the runic circle unless he would get out of the Devil's Realm.

He also wished the devil inside him had awakened, so he could ask many questions that were left unanswered, but it seemed he was in deep slumber.

Sometimes Lucas felt bored and always had in mind what to do while he remained inside the teleportation magic array.

Aside from meditating and reading books, he also exercised his body once he felt stiff, keeping the same position.

He was also aware of how smelly he was; it had been a long time since he had a chance to clean himself. He even has to resort to wearing nothing, leaving his bare-naked body for all eyes to feast on.

But he was skinny and bony, so there was not a single part left for women to enjoy.

He didn't plan on wearing off his slacks, being aware he was getting used to his stench. He was only initially conscious and repugnant but then has long grown accustomed to his reeking sweats.

"Tsk, It's no use pondering over it," muttered the Archdevil with an annoyed face. "Every failure I make, I will go and try to break the chain until the last resources have been used up. If the chain is still stubborn, then that leaves me no choice."

The Archdevil opened an enormous steel double-acting door with ease, even though, from the looks of it, it needed a train traveling at the highest speed to ram it just to open it.

There, what assaulted him was an iron stench of blood, and when his eyesight landed inside…

The place appeared similar to a dungeon. Every cage laid different weary beast, and when they perceived someone opened the door, they froze, slowly opened their eyes, and shivered in terror.

The existence of an Archdevil was worth fearing since they alone almost stood at the top of the devil rankings. They were at the peak in Earth Realm, and the beast imprisoned in the steel cage hasn't reached it yet.

The strongest at most reached the middle of the Earth Realm.

Aside from the imprisoned beast, what the Archdevil focused his gaze on was the pile of corpses of the devil, seemingly forming a small mountain. Their dead bodies continued to disperse Aether's Evil Element, affecting the beast.

What the Archdevil was ignorant about was that the beast was already corrupted by the Aether Evil Element, to begin with, from natural selection. Their ancestor, the first beast when the Devil God created the Devil's Realm, already created another class of beast belonging to the domain of Evil living beings.

Simply put, the beast wasn't basically corrupted by the Aether Evil Element, but rather, such elements already make up their whole existence.

To create a demon, it needed a pure breed of another elemental beast that was then corrupted by the evil energy or element to become a demon. The Archdevil was never aware of this, but he was still stubborn enough to keep repeating the same process until a single process turned out successful.

The Archdevil relied on the philosophy that not all living beings were the same, even if their race and gender were identical. There would always be a single aspect that differed from others, and even though there would be one, the other aspects would still be different.

In other words, The Archdevil was relying on luck.

After picking another beast, the latter didn't struggle and let his fate be ended by the ghoulish hand of the Archdevil. Afterward, the Archdevil worked on a pile of devil corpses and finally decided on a fiend.

He then walked out of the dungeon-like place, and the door mysteriously closed itself.

A month has passed again, and Lucas has already spent more than three months in the Devil's Realm. At first, it was difficult to adapt, but it didn't take long for him to do so.

But right now… Lucas was on the verge of a mental breakdown. He had already read all the books long ago but not comprehending everything. However, reading them again and again felt monotonous.

Meditation was the same, but the thought of forming a core came to his mind.

What would happen if he formed a core?

To understand your affinity with other Aethers, you have to meditate in a different environment enriched by a single branch of Aether. For instance, near a volcano, where fire crystals appeared and spread excellent quality and rich quantities of Aether Fire Element.

And once you decide what Aether Element to choose, only then do you create a core formed by the Aether Element you selected.

Therefore, Lucas had already thought of forming a core a long time ago but then brushed it, pondering there were still other elements to explore.

But now, the thought of forming a core, ignoring the Aether Evil Element, appeared. He wondered though, what would happen if he shaped a core by Aether Evil Element? Would his body change to adapt to it?

After all, it appeared his body rejected the Aether Evil Element, for the latter showed torment towards it. When he perceived his body was getting corrupted, he panicked and had to try to expel the Aether Evil Element through respiration.

If it wasn't because of the mysterious appearance of something that disposes the raging Aether Evil Element from his body, Lucas thought he would die.

But what would happen if he formed a core through Aether Evil Element, even though it could harm his body ruthlessly?

Would he die once his insides were destroyed?

Or maybe… he would change into another living being?

Lucas shivered from the second question, but he was interested to find out.

Lucas finally decided on what to do next since he had already studied teleportation magic arrays. Thus, now he wanted to learn how to form a core and how it affected the growth of the bearer, even touching the realm of immortal beings.

Lucas was always interested in magic and supernatural powers, but because he excelled in Academics, he was aware there would always be a logical explanation without a mix of magic within.

Now, the exchange of the Goddess and the Devil turned his understanding of science upside down.

He finally comes to believe magic exists!
