The way that the king said this, it was almost as if he was expecting something to go wrong after this wedding.

However, that confused me.

This wasn't some kind of coup where I was seizing control, this was a willing transfer of power in the first place. So it wasn't as if I would be doing anything to the king after this was all over.

I was even counting on him to help me with governing the country in the future.

His experience was an asset that would surely help me in what I would do in the future.

But it sounded like he wasn't planning on doing this.

This confused me very much, but there wasn't anything that I could say about this since I had no idea what he was thinking.

For now, there was only one thing that I should focus on.
