Chapter 57: Alliance.

A male sat comfortably on one of the seats around a round table, his gaze unfocused as he stared at a large holographic image.

He wore a blue tuxedo with a silver cane placed by his side. He was clad in expensive accessories that gave him the look of an upper-class man.

His brown hair was combed to the back, and his gray eyes had a light glint of brilliance.

He tapped the glass, round table from time to time with his index finger, lost in thoughts that were currently unknown.

Hearing the distant footsteps, he gently places a finger on his aquiline nose before proceeding to his glabella. 

'They must have arrived… ha, how shameful…'

Recalling how his direct subordinate had returned, bearing bad news about the battle, he could not help but feel bitter.

Their forces clearly had the upper hand, both in preparation and manpower… then why the defeat?—a saddening one, for that matter.
