Chapter 136: A Simple Game

"Do not look at me with those eyes. If you want to know the truth, you have to learn to speak the truth. Let's play a game. A truth in exchange for a truth?" he laughed. If only life had been this simple.

"How will I know if you are telling the truth or not?" he asked back when she shrugged. 

"It depends on your instincts and trust in me." She paused and then laughed. "Or you can test me from what you already know. Let me start. Tell me why do you hate Alec so much?" 

His face grimaced at that.

"Cassian cheated on Renne. How can I accept it?" The reply was more of a question when Mary felt her heart twisting.

  Was it just that? If that was what was worrying him, then he must know that Cassian never cheated on Renee. But what if he had killed Renee to get rid of Alec?

The book said that he could not bear that Renee was going to give birth to someone else's child. There was no mention of whether or not he did that.
