Chapter 70: Worth The Trust

"Wait! You were keeping an eye on me from the start?" How could she be such a fool?

Ha! She glared at him.

"Who was the man with you?" He asked without caring about her anger. "They said they could not see his face clearly."

"Ha! Hahaha. What made you think I would reply to you?" She frowned. He made fun of her from the start to the end.

He did not let her go and now he was toying with her fear. 

"Because the ruby you pawned belongs to me. You have only gained it by slaving yourself to me. I own your time, actions, emotions and life. Reply when I am still being polite or I can send you to prison for lying to me, for using the secret passage without my permission and for meeting the spies." 

His eyes turned colder, though his voice was still calm. The pressure around her increased.

Anyone would have fallen on their knees already. Mary was no different. Her knees had gotten weaker and she was barely able to stand up.
