Chapter 83: Chapter 83 – A Freak for Battle

The battlefield was a violent symphony of clashing power, and in the middle of it, Dave fought with growing intensity. Every punch, every kick, every dodge, and every hit sharpened his senses. His opponents were relentless—both the armored man with his massive broadsword and the dagger-wielding woman were forcing him to push beyond his limits.

But something was changing inside Dave. He could feel it. With each exchange, he was learning—absorbing new techniques, perfecting his timing, refining his instincts. Every movement was becoming more fluid, more precise. He dodged the warrior's sword strike with inches to spare, countered the woman's dagger with the back of his hand, and immediately pivoted into a counterattack.

He was evolving.

As the fight went on, a strange thrill coursed through him. The chaos, the intensity, the danger—it all started to feel... exhilarating. The closer he came to death, the sharper his focus became. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, but instead of fear, it was excitement that surged within him.

I'm starting to love this... he realized. There was something primal, almost addictive, about the rush of combat. The near-death experiences, the edge of destruction, the feeling of survival against overwhelming odds—it was intoxicating. He was becoming more than just a fighter. He was becoming a freak for the fight itself.

But even as his skills grew sharper, so did his opponents. As he dodged another massive swing from the armored man, Dave moved to counter, but in that instant, the woman appeared right where he dodged, her daggers aimed directly at his neck.

Too fast!

There was no time to fully react. Desperation seized him, and in a split-second decision, Dave chose to sacrifice his left hand, raising it to block the incoming blades. The daggers sliced clean through his wrist, severing his hand with a spray of blood.

Pain erupted, a searing, burning sensation that almost brought him to his knees. Dave gritted his teeth, his eyes widening in shock as his severed hand fell to the ground. He stumbled back, clutching his bleeding stump, his mind racing.

I... lost my hand... The pain was overwhelming, but his thoughts were clear. I didn't see that coming...

For a moment, doubt crept in. What would become of him now? Could he still fight at this level with just one hand? But as he stood there, his heart pounding, he remembered his resolve. He believed in his strength. He believed in the System.

I'll be okay.

With renewed focus, Dave kept fighting, refusing to let the pain or the injury stop him. He ducked under another slash from the armored man, rolling to the side as the woman lunged at him again. But then something strange happened.

His left stump... began to tingle.

He glanced down in disbelief. The wound wasn't just clotting—it was regenerating. Slowly, but surely, new flesh was growing where his hand had been severed. Bone, tissue, skin—it was all starting to reform before his eyes.

What the hell...?

"System, what's happening?" Dave asked in his mind, still dodging attacks as he focused on his regenerating hand.

"The passive regeneration skill you purchased includes the ability to regrow lost limbs and organs. The process is slow, but your body will fully heal over time."

I can regrow limbs?! The realization hit him like a bolt of lightning. Not only was he able to survive these intense battles, but he could also recover from almost any injury. His enemies might cut him down, but he would rise again, stronger than before.

A grin spread across Dave's face. This fight wasn't over. Not by a long shot.

His left hand continued to regrow, inch by inch, as he focused on defending himself. His movements became sharper, more controlled. The thrill of the battle intensified as his confidence surged. He was no longer just reacting to the attacks—he was adapting, countering, and preparing to strike back with full force.

By the time his hand had fully regrown, the fighters were visibly shocked. They had seen his hand severed—watched it fall to the ground. Yet now, there it was, as if nothing had happened.

The armored man hesitated, his sword lowered for just a moment. The woman, her eyes narrowing, stepped back slightly, clearly unnerved by what she had just witnessed.

That hesitation was all Dave needed.

The playful, calculated approach he had been using vanished. Now, with his body fully restored, Dave's demeanor shifted. His aura flared with raw power as he cracked his knuckles, his muscles tightening in preparation for the next phase of the battle.

Enough playing around.

The thrill of the fight was still there, but now, it was time to get serious. With his hand restored, Dave knew it was time to take the offensive. The thrill of dodging and learning had fueled him, but now, he wanted to win. He needed to show these opponents just how dangerous he had become.

His grin faded, replaced by a look of cold determination. His opponents watched him warily, sensing the shift in his attitude.

"You should've killed me when you had the chance," Dave said, his voice low and steady. "But now, it's too late."

With a burst of speed, Dave launched himself at the two fighters, his movements faster and more aggressive than ever before. The armored man raised his sword to defend, but Dave was already inside his guard, fists flying with enough force to shatter mountains.

The real fight had just begun.
