Chapter 281: What Was To Come

After another sumptuous breakfast, Max and Eve once again journeyed to their next destination. It would take them a few more hours before they would finally enter the territory of the wolves and then a few more hours to arrive at the capital.

"Have you visited the Lycan's territory in the past?" Max asked her. They were currently playing an old game called Go. Max said that this game should be as old as the dragons and it was even believed that the dragons invented it out of boredom.

"No…" Eve lied. Then she straightened her back and smiled at him. "A few times."

"Why am I not surprised to hear that?" he asked. By now, both of them already had a tacit understanding not to ask about each other's past. That means he was not supposed to ask her why someone who grew up in the human empire without any history of leaving that place would somehow visit the Lycan territory.

She shrugged. "I dislike Lycans…" Eve said. "I believe they are very arrogant."
