Chapter 164: Tremble

Eve's narrowed eyes darted between Lucius and Michaela, her suspicions rising. It was evident that Michaela's presence in the group was not voluntary. Had Lucius forced her to come? The gears in Eve's mind churned as she attempted to discern Michaela's true emotions, but her efforts yielded nothing. Frustrated, she shifted her focus to the maze surrounding them, hoping to exert some influence over it.

Concentrating, Eve tried to manipulate a section of the maze, to bend it to her will. However, her attempts proved fruitless. The maze remained stubbornly unchanged, unyielding to her desires.

"Hm?" Suddenly, an eerie sensation crawled up Eve's spine, as if unseen eyes were watching her every move. She spun around, scanning the space for any signs of intrusion, but found nothing amiss. Still, an unsettling feeling lingered, tugging at her instincts, warning her of an unseen presence.
