Max's words felt like a death sentence.

Eve hung her head in exhaustion. When he boasted about having the best physician, he was not kidding.
He brought salves to treat her every time her body succumbed to the agony. Because of this, she lasted for two hours in this place without losing her consciousness.
"One more set and we are done."
"Are you trying to kill me?" she asked.
"There are more straightforward ways to achieve that. Trying to build your strength through training is not one of them." He peered at her over the book he held in his hands. The man had discovered a way to entertain himself while she trained, and that was by reading.
