Chapter 37: Chapter 37 What We Create

Grace's POV

“Erm,” I nervously bit my lip and looked at Jack. “What does a Third do?”

“Trains the warriors and keeps order,” he explained and sighed. “And it has to be someone everybody fears.”

“Why?” I asked surprised. Sure I understood that it was a plus being feared in the werewolf world, but did everybody have to fear EVERYBODY?!

Couldn’t anyone just be liked for being--- Oh, I don’t know?

NICE?!

“Because he will be in charge of training the worriers and trust me,” Jack continued and clenched his teeth. “If they don’t fear the shit out of him, they’ll kill him within the first hour of training.”

“Why?” I asked again, before thinking. Because that’s when it finally hit me, that it hurt him to speak this much. There were small pearls of sweat gathering at the edges of his hairline and his fingers were digging into his chest-crossed arms.

He was in pain…
