Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Prisoners

Grace’s POV

I was relieved when the drug finally knocked me out. But by then, I’d already seen and heard too much. Things I wish I hadn’t heard…

“Holy fuck!” I heard someone say as footsteps sounded close by. I more or less expected someone to hover over me, but to my horror, they passed me by. And stone-cold fear slammed into the pit of my stomach.

Jack!

“Alpha!” a gruff voice called out and seconds later another man joined the first two. “You need to see this!”

I fought against the drug in my system, willing it to be gone. But as I’d learned so long ago, wishing for something to be real, didn’t make it so. Frustrated and angry, I felt hot tears press against my eyelids and my surroundings became blurry once again.

“Well, well, well! What do we have here?” I heard the man from before – the one who had threatened Pax! – snicker in an amused tone. “The Rogue King.”

No! I wanted to scream. Leave him alone!

But I couldn’t do anything…
