Chapter 11: Chapter 11 Witch!

Grace’s POV

“You’re a witch?”

It was a statement just as much as a question. As if he’d just now realized it and was beating himself over the head for not noticing it sooner.

And me?

I gaped at him!

“A what?”

He didn’t say witch, I kept chanting to myself. I refused to believe it. I couldn’t believe it! There was no way that---

Jack sat back up, sniffed loudly, and--- then grunted. As if he was annoyed with himself, and I could even have sworn that there was a curse under his breath. He got back up and stepped closer to me, towing over me as I still lay sprawled on the ground.

“You. Are. A. Witch,” he stated, eyeing me with suspicion all of a sudden. I didn’t like it. And I didn’t like how he kept calling me a witch. That was what Cole called me just before he ripped out my reason to live…

“Witches don’t exist,” I snarled at him, letting anger override my fear and confusion. Witches couldn’t be real! It was just impossible!
