Everything about this novel is why I tend to avoid this entire genre. Cliched ,dull, and the female leads personality is flat as a board. Couple in WN retroactively deciding that it's so worth it that they slap the premium 14 chapters in. Save your coins ,save your fast passes it's not worth the time or effort.

I would love to know more background on the male lead. So far, I definitely want to continue reading.

In short, if you don’t like stories that will keep making you frustarted, then better avoid this book at all costs. FMC is very very bad, always insulting and looking down on MC. MC is a big fool with zero temper who keeps taking in all the insults with a smile and rejects much better ladies for a fiancee that hates him. Half of FMCs family hates him but he still feels warm about this family and keeps saving them without letting other know, which makes things even more frustrating. All in all, this type of trash should never be picked up. I would prefer cliche cultivation stories than this trash.

As of ch 20, it's... so-so. Worth checking out if the summary raises your interest, but don't expect a masterpiece. Fair warning, the female lead is quite insufferable so far. I don't fault her for resisting the idea of marrying the MC - after all, it's something arranger by their grandfathers without asking for their opinions. But I do fault her for looking down on him and not appreciating the huge favours he's done for her and her family (even if he purposefully conceals some of them). In short, she's haughty and ungrateful. I decided to give her time for character development, but I'm slowly starting to lose hope... Fortunately, there's also another heroine, who's a refreshingly interesting personality. I'd say she's a tease, but there's much more to her that isn't so easy to define. Her existence proves that the author isn't hopeless, he can write an engaging character. I'm also expecting more girls to join the harem later. MC himself is ok. He's an OP traditional Chinese doctor specialising in acupuncture, and also a cultivator with superhuman fighting abilities. Personality-wise he's the kind that likes to keep a low profile. He has valid reasons for not wanting to stand out, since he doesn't want to be constantly bothered by requests, he needs time to cultivate. However, his reasons for hiding his good deeds from his "wife's" family (whenever possible) are more difficult to understand. The translation quality is passable. The writing is a tad amateurish, but not too bad. There are some clichéd face-slapping scenes and such. Pacing is pretty good IMO. At the end of the day, it's a decently entertaining story, nothing more, nothing less.
