Chapter 28: The first
Takara was a bit surprised by the fact that Minato's plan for dividing Kurama actually intended to be a resurrection target, but it made sense.
He just didn't expect anyone from Konoha to come up with it, and it took over a decade since his death for it to happen, moreover, it was by someone who wasn't from his village.
"Who are you?" Minato quickly adjusted his mental state and realized that Takara wore the headband of another village. "Are you from Sunagakure? How do you know this Konoha technique, and how did you get me out of the Shinigami?!"
Minato caught sight of the girl wearing a mask similar to the Shinigami's face and tried to move, but found that his body didn't obey him.
He had a bad feeling about this.
"I didn't pull you out of the Pure Land to give you explanations," Takara said as he made sure he had firm control over the Fourth Hokage thanks to the weak sacrifice he used as a medium. "I'll be direct, tell me all the details of the Shadow Clone Technique."
Minato frowned and fell silent; he wasn't going to give information about a B-rank technique developed by the Second Hokage. While he didn't know why the person who pulled him out of the Pure Land wanted the technique, it didn't change the fact that it was from another village.
"Your wife is in the next room, would you like me to take your place in the Shinigami's stomach?" Takara threatened, despite being unable to carry out such a threat. "On the other hand, give me what I want and I'll not only let you meet with her, but you'll also get news of your son Naruto."
Minato gritted his teeth, feeling unable to use the Flying Thunder God Technique, probably due to the seals in the room.
"How can I trust you?"
Takara extended his hand, and to Minato's amazement, a perfectly formed Rasengan appeared in it.
"I have almost all of Konoha's techniques in my head," Takara said, implying that he also knew the Dead Demon Consuming Seal technique. "But the Shadow Clone Technique is among the missing, and I hate that my collection is incomplete. So give me what I want or I'll make sure your family goes through hell."
Minato was as furious as he was puzzled.
Did he just want to learn the technique for collecting purposes?
"Let me see Kushina first," Minato said.
"No," Takara wasn't going to indulge the Fourth Hokage. "You have ten seconds to decide. Otherwise..."
"Alright!" Minato tried to raise his arms in surrender, but couldn't move as he wanted, not even for that. "Just leave Kushina and Naruto out of this."
"Fine."
Minato sighed defeatedly and began to explain the principles of the technique, hoping that the person in front of him would try to make too many clones at once driven by arrogance and, by dispersing them, destroy their mind with the massive flood of memories.
Takara immediately launched a clone and after a few seconds dissipated it, verifying that everything was working as expected. This would greatly help in preparing puppets by "his hands" much more quickly.
"Let me see Kushina now."
"Not yet."
"I gave you what you wanted!"
"Just one of the two things," Takara conjured a giant Greed Pot made of purple wood beside him. "You said it yourself, there's a reason you'd be revived, remember?"
Before Minato could even respond, Takara input Karin's unlimited chakra supply into the Greed Pot, and several chains emerged to pierce Minato's stomach.
A bestial scream echoed in the room as the chains began to pull back slowly, showing no signs of stopping, while Minato also screamed in pain due to the agony of having the biju ripped out of him.
"Mmm, looks like I'll have to increase the output power," with a hand seal, all the resurrected beings at his disposal and without consciousness appeared by his side and contributed more chakra to the extraction.
It wasn't surprising that even Akatsuki had to use several people to remove the biju from their jinchuriki; the Tailed Beast's resistance was considerable and drained a lot of efforts.
Takara had to spend half a day extracting every last drop of Kyubi's chakra from Minato, successfully sealing it into the Greed Pot he specially prepared to seal the biju separately.
"Alright, you can go see your wife now, you're no longer of any use to me."
With the sound of the biwa, Minato disappeared from the room and reappeared next to Kushina. That room had the same seals as this one, but applied to the outside to not be as noticeable at first sight.
And where Minato was, a dying Naruto appeared.
"Let's continue with the other half," Takara said to himself as he repeated the process once more.
He would let Minato and Kushina have their time together until he finished extracting the other half of Kurama from their son; wasn't he considerate with them?
Thanks to firsthand experience with Minato's extraction, Takara was able to speed up the extraction of the biju compared to it, and only needed about ten hours to finish collecting the complete Nine-Tails.
Naruto's body fell alongside Sakura's with a dull thud.
"Right, she was still there," Takara had completely forgotten about the kunoichi's corpse while immersed in the satisfaction of having been able to seize the strongest Tailed Beast from the start. "Well, I already have Tsunade and Shizune, just add Sakura to have the complete set."
He sent 2B to take care of the bodies and send them to the terrariums, as well as to clean the room of the blood and tears on the floor.
In a good mood, Takara went to see how the resurrected couple was doing and was a little surprised to find the room like a war zone. Kushina held onto Minato's shirt collar as her hair stood up unnaturally.
Too bad, it seems he missed the show.
