Chapter 144: Blood of my Blood

"It should be time soon..."

It had been more than a year since the incident in which I was sabotaged (damn you, Sage of the Six Paths! I'm sure it was him...), and since then, I had to create an artificial Shinigami to investigate the Pure Land without it negatively affecting me.

And who better than Ryuk for the role?

I even give him a salary!

In apples, but it counts.

He has already located Mikoto's soul and confirmed that her mental health has been restored. Although, from what Ryuk told me, her husband Fugaku is the one with trauma now...

I almost don't want to know what Mikoto did to end up that way. It was like seeing what Voldemort turned into after creating the Horcruxes. You feel sorry just by looking at it.

Oh! I finally finished my project of the chakra symbiote metal, although it didn't turn out exactly as I expected, if I'm honest. It turns out that, for reasons I still don't fully understand, I've only managed to make it adopt a stable humanoid form to help as a physical clone. Besides, it needs to be charged with enough chakra as if it were a battery before being used, a bit like Tsunade's Yin Seal.

And its appearance is suspiciously similar to "Weather Report," the Stand that appears in the Stone Ocean saga...

I'm starting to think I have an obsession with the theme of clouds.

So, I turned it into the headbands of the village, replacing the old ones.

It just came to my mind; it's a perfect way to carry it with you, and certainly, no one expects the headband that ninjas wear to identify themselves to jump and help you if needed in the fight.

Guaranteed surprise factor, at least the first few times.

Although... I feel that my efforts to finish this project are not as appreciated as I hoped, nor is its use what I originally intended.

Anko uses it more as a convenient butler to go out and buy things; Pakura uses it as a kitchen robot; Tsunade for garden maintenance in her place; Mariko for ink preparation; Fu and Haku for brushing the cloud foxes; Nemu as her own assistant, and the list goes on.

Everyone uses it for other things, except for what I planned.

Although I must point out that I use it to change the babies' diapers, so I guess I can't point fingers at anyone.

Yes, I'm already a dad!

Not by adoption, not by the laboratory.

In the natural way, just ******, as it should be!

Ameyuri, Pakura, and Anko gave birth during this time, and when I saw my children, I felt immensely relieved, as you can't imagine.

To begin with, none of them have dangling earlobes.

No, seriously, I was quite worried during the three pregnancies, and I had my reasons for that. I even had to do periodic check-ups along with Tsunade not to become a bundle of nerves.

I was worried that, having a One Piece physique, the babies might have some problems forming due to their mothers, although strong, not having the same constitution.

The recipes I gave them were a great idea since when the embryos reached the third month, they began to take a large amount of nutrients from their mothers. All three would have lost a lot of weight if it weren't for my preventive measures.

All three not only had to take the recipes but needed to eat three times more than usual, and they still had room to cover their food cravings.

And I swear they asked for weird things even for me, but after the experience Tsunade went through, I made sure they had what they wanted at all times.

The faces of the others seeing plates of food disappearing one after another were priceless.

It's not hard to guess, but the babies were born with a physique much more inclined to One Piece, so they'll be true Taijutsu beasts if they set their minds to it.

I also felt much more relieved knowing that they inherit a chakra network from their mothers, so they won't be isolated from that convenient thing as I am. In fact, the capacity of their chakra networks is considerable, according to Tsunade and Mariko's observations, similar to the newborns of their clans.

One Piece-like potential physique + Initial chakra capacity at Senju/Uzumaki level...

My babies are going to be the best!

Especially because, when they're old enough, I'll give them some Devil Fruits, the good ones, although I still have plenty of time to prepare for that.

The commotion in the Land of Water has already ceased, and both Sunagakure and Kumogakure have managed to turn the tables on their situations. Since our alliance is still in progress, Konoha has become quite contained, practically surrounded.

From the Land of Hot Water, down through the Land of Whirlpools, turning through the Land of Waves, and ending in the Land of Rivers, with a Great Village at each end holding the barrier.

No wonder that sometime later an alliance between Iwagakure and Konoha was revealed to keep greedy ideas in check. In fact, Hinata told me that it was a persistent idea of Shikaku's, even though Kakashi, I mean, the Fifth Hokage, wasn't entirely sure it would be effective.

It's not as if it were really necessary; Suna and Kumo have enough work for two decades to assimilate the new resources fully, manage the territory, and adjust trade rates that will fill their coffers, as well as their food stores.

As long as they remain on the defensive for a while, they will develop enough to consider whether the next target should be Iwa or Konoha.

Maybe I should work to increase the population of Seimeigakure as well because despite how they crushed my hand when they held it during childbirth and the amount of inappropriate comments they made while giving birth, whether Anko, Pakura, or Ameyuri seem to be against having more children.

Besides, their figures have developed even more after pregnancy...

Focus!

Did I mention that there are more couples in the village now?

Haku and Karin are finally having some sparks between them, although their personalities make things go smoothly, all very gentle.

Kimimaro? No, unfortunately, he doesn't seem to be interested in romance yet.

But Fu and Maki gave a big surprise, at least shocking enough to leave Pakura with her mouth open for a good minute.

It's not a problem; they just hid it quite well from most people. I don't include myself because Fu already came to me to clarify her emotions and fears, so I was already expecting it.

In fact, I'm thinking that if they grow up and stay together, I could give them the three children with the ability to change the weather (Ri, Ma, and Shirayuki) for them to adopt.

Nemu was the one who gave me a scare!

She made her hypothesis after what happened with Hinata and operated on herself in the operating room (where I caught her before she cleaned all the blood), resulting in her also awakening the Tenseigan.

Her hypothesis had solid logic and much merit, especially considering that in a sense, Nemu is essentially a version 2.0. Still, I punished her by making her stare at the wall for not informing me of the operation and for not asking for help from Karin, Tsunade, Shizune, or me.

"Hinata!" I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw her arriving on the Kinton cloud. "What brings you here today?" I asked despite having a hunch. "Do you want to go on a picnic again like last week?"

"Although it's a charming idea, I'll leave it for later," she smiled as she approached me. "Naruto returned to the village yesterday, and I thought you might be interested to know," she said. "It's incredible that after all that, they let him go with that pervert," she snorted.

Well, that means we're officially at the beginning of the Shippuden season.

Let's see if this time Black Zetsu escapes me...
