"You have a cousin that would dare do this to you?" Eric asked, his brows almost shooting to the top of his head.

Honestly, Eric had to think back to Elena's situation because he also had a sister who was ready to throw him right under the bus. 

If his sister was his enemy, then Elena's cousin could become her enemy as well. These days, blood seemed to be no longer thicker than water.

"Of course, I do," Elena answered, unaware of his inner turmoil.

There was a moment of silence before Eric asked, "Did my brother tell you how he was going to settle this matter? I love revenge so much. It is the only thing sweeter than honey to me."

"He did make mention of it. I don't think I should care about how he is going to take care of this situation so that I can always remain innocent in case families are involved."
