"No, I just…" Kate hesitated as she felt she was trying to compensate for her cruel act. "I left you when you were in a critical condition. I separated you from your son for two years. Your anger is justified, and I… I just want to give you a way to let go of your anger."

"By beating you?"

"… yes," Kate nodded firmly. "It's okay, Henry. I know I was wrong for leaving you. If beating me will give you peace of mind, then do it now."

Henry clenched his fists until the veins popped on his hands. He grabbed Kate's shoulder and forced her to face him.

Kate looked up and took a good look at the man she held dearly in her heart.
