Kate turned around spontaneously and saw Tom standing behind her.
He wore his casual smile, wearing jogger pants and a sweatshirt.
"Tom? Out for a morning walk?" Kate asked.
"Yeah, as usual," Tom replied. "And you're here having a picnic with Theo, I see."
"As usual," Kate smiled. "You know Theo can get antsy if we don't go to the park or the riverside at least once a week. He is very active."
"Mhm, but it's good that he is very active, right? That means he is a strong and healthy child. My Mom said I was like that too when I was around Theo's age… before she kicked me out, of course," Tom's smile wore out the moment he mentioned his family since he was kicked out when he was eighteen.
Kate could sense the sadness from Tom, so she called Theo immediately, "Theo, come here. There's Tom!"
