Kate continued to busy herself, trying to get her mind off the image of Henry. She didn't want to regret her decision, not when there was no turning back. 

At first, Tom kept silent, but he finally asked, "Are you really okay, Kate?"

"You look distraught, so I thought that gossip news upset you," Tom mentioned. He already knew all the information regarding Kate and Henry from his Mistress, Madam Hawthorne. But he wasn't allowed to disclose his identity, so he could only nudge on the topic, hoping that Kate would eventually open up to him.
