Chapter 219: Indigo League: Ash vs Gary part 2

After Gary returned Golem he threw out Scizor again who landed, Annihilape immediately glared at Scizor the memories of his own friend Scizor and how he would get beat up as a Mankey.
Without a command Annihilape ran forward and jumped up trying to land a kick across Scizor's face, Scizor managed to raise his claw to block it but it did still make him flinch since he was also beat up from earlier.
"Scizor use [Bullet Punch]!" Gary called out
Scizor pushed Annihilape back, sending him flying through the air before dashing forward and catching the Ape in a barrage of glowing punches before finally sending him down.
For a moment it looked like Annihilape was out which made Scizor breathe a sigh of relief, but Ash called out, "[Fire Punch]!"
As Annihilape was falling over he threw a fist at Scizor again knocking Scizor back and sending him onto his back but he was still just barely up thanks to escaping the first fight so soon, but Annihilape fell over onto his face unconscious.
Ash returned Annihilape immediately and looked at Scizor who was clutching his chest and barely still up, so he looked down, "You're up bud,"
Of course, he was talking to Pikachu, who nodded as he used Ash's elbow to jump up and land on the field.
Gary was about to yell out something when Ash cut him off, "[Quick Attack]!"
In an instant, Pikachu rushed forward at the bug and tackled him, then climbed up his Scizor's body and jumped into the air.
"Now bring it down with [Thunder Punch]!" Ash commanded as Pikachu smiled.
His fist started sparkling as he then spun his body around in the air and then brought down his fist as he came down hitting Scizor over the head causing him to lose balance and finally fall over.
Gary signed and returned Scizor looking at it for a moment before tossing it in the air and catching it again, "That Pikachu sure has been a problem for me since forever,"
"Well, what can I say, he's been with me the longest, and also my starter since a certain someone who will not be named dropped him on me,"
"Ha, you can say that again, but I've been preparing something," Gary said as he held his next Pokeball, "This ones for you Arcanine!"
From the Pokeball, a fire dog jumped out and howled into the air before looking down to face Pikachu.
Ash smirked, "Alright then, Pikachu [Quick Attack]!"
Pikachu started to vibrate as he began running around the stadium aiming to gain momentum and attack Arcanine from behind.
Gary smiled back, "Arcanine, [Extreme Speed]"
Arcanine's figure disappeared from vision, while Pikachu quickly looked around and turned back, seeing that Arcanine was now running next to him and about to shoulder tackle him.
Ash quickly called out, "[Agility] then [Brick Break]!"
As Arcanine closed the distance Pikachu disappeared from view but he immediately reappeared above as he sent a glowing red fist at Arcanine's back forcing a stop and Pikachu to go flying.
As Arcanine recovered quickly he heard Gary call out, "[Fire Spin]!"
Arcanine curled up into a ball and started spinning like a tire as he shot toward Pikachu and hit him before he touched the ground, knocking him even further back as Arcanine kept coming.
Ash called out, "Now use [Thunderbolt] on the ground!"
Pikachu flipped and turned his body and he shot a bolt into the ground giving him propulsion to fly into the air and dodging Arcanine.
Then Ash continued, "Now [Electroweb],"
A ball of electricity was created on Pikachu's tail and as he threw it down it expanded into a net that caught Arcanine inside its trap and started shocking the fire dog.
As Arcanine was being shocked, Gary called out, "Quick while he's in the air [Will-O-Wisp]!"
Arcanine huffed a breath as from his fire multiple embers were created and were shot up trying to get at Pikachu.
Ash just smiled, "If that's how you want to play, [Counter shield]!"
Pikachu started spinning as he was falling gathering more and more electricity before finally shooting it out dispersing the fire coming at him and sending any leftover electricity down at Arcanine.
Then Pikachu finally landed back on the ground, cheeks sparking, as Arcanine was still trapped.
Gary clenched his teeth, "Arcanine break out with [Flare Blitz]!"
Arcanine's entire body started getting covered in flames as the web holding him burnt off, then at an incredible speed, he dashed forward catching Pikachu as he was trying to escape and sending him crashing through a rock.
But Pikachu managed to get out of there as Arcanine was ready to go again, but for some reason that no one could explain Pikachu wasn't looking scared.
Ash looked at his electric mouse, "So you understand it now?"
"Pika!" Pikachu nodded with sparkling cheeks.
Gary raised his eyebrow but didn't say anything, "Whatever, now you know that Arcanine is faster than your Pikachu, [Extreme Speed]!"
Ash smiled as he crossed his arms and Pikachu did the same, "Use it,"
Arcanine's body blurred again as he dashed forward again aiming to catch Pikachu, but Pikachu didn't move, and when Arcanine got close Pikachu disappeared causing him to crash into the rock.
As Arcanine shook his head he looked out and could barely see the faint sight of Pikachu, zipping at a much higher speed than before, this wasn't [Quick attack], no instead Pikachu managed to copy [Extreme Speed].
Gary noticed it as well and Ash gave a smile, "You figured it out, well no matter this ends now, [Volt Tackle]!"
From another of the zips it begins to light up with electricity, then Arcanine feels one on his left side but before he can look there he feels it again on his right, then over his hard, then his back, then finally to his face as Pikachu reappeared sending a kick at Arcanine sending the dog falling over.
Pikachu backflipped back to Ash's side as Arcanine had spirals in his eyes, Gary frowned, "Arcanine return,"
Ash smiled back, "You too bud, you did your job,"
Pikachu nodded, hopping over and giving Ash a fistbump as he climbed back up and made himself comfortable in the hood.
Both Ash and Gary held out their Pokeballs, they both already knew who it would be and it wasn't their ace,
As they both threw it out it revealed Nidoking and Kangaskhan standing across from each other. Kangaskhan had a Silk Scarf and Nidoking his trusty Life Orb.
Gary called out first, "Kangaskhan use [Return]!"
Kangaskhan readied herself as she ran forward, her fists glowing white, and started sending punches at Nidoking one after the other before sending him back sliding but still up.
Ash raised his arm pointing at them, "[Focus Blast] now!"
Nidoking held out his hand and started shooting out multiple red orbs one after the other, Kangaskhan tried dodging but after the first, she was hit with the second and third sending her sliding back with her arms in front of her blocking the brunt of the attack.
Gary swiped his arm, "Kangaskhan now [Drain Punch]!"
As soon as Kangaskhan recovered she started running again and sent a glowing red fist down but at the same time, Nidoking spun his body around.
Nidoking was sent flying face-first into the ground but he did lower the damage thanks to his armored back, and although Kangaskhan recovered some health she felt a burning sensation on her hand, when she looked at her fist she saw a cut made by one of Nidoking's back spikes.
Normally that wouldn't bother her but Kangaskhan started feeling her vision blur seeing it because that activated Nidoking's ability Poison Touch, and left her poisoned.
Nidoking spun back around and as he was on the ground he puched it sending a [Earth Power] directly under Kangaskhan blowing up and sending her flying back still holding on to the baby.
Kangaskhan recovered but Ash didn't finish as he yelled out, "[Dragon Pulse]!"
Nidoking stepped forward and started spewing purple-blue flames at Kangaskhan's back, the reason why was because she was protecting the baby from taking any damage.
As Gary saw this he grit his teeth, "Use [Earthquake] now!"
As Kangaskhan was still facing away she punched the ground creating a shockwave and sending Nidoking off balance from the super effective attack.
Then when she turned back around Gary called out again, "[Dizzy Punch]!"
Kangaskhan started swinging her fist around in a clockwise motion before sending the jab at Nidoking's face sending him back to the ground, but also finally taking some of that poison.
As Nidoking was struggling to get up because of the confusion, Gary made another command, "[Return] again!"
Kangaskhan ran forward and kicked Nidoking on the chest sending him onto his back then she started stomping at his chest over and over again with the Baby cheering for her.
But then before she landed her final stomp Nidoking reached out his hand and caught her foot catching her by surprise.
Ash smiled, "Good now [Counter],"
Nidoking swung his body pulling Kangaskhan to fall with him this time using the momentum to get up and send a punch at her back right before he touched the ground sending her at it even harder, but even still she didn't fall instead holding her place in a plank position to protect the baby.
Kangaskhan took the poison damage as Gary called out, "[Iron Tail]!"
Kangaskhan's tail glowed silver as she then swung it around catching Nidoking's feet and knocking him to the ground as she got up and sent another at his chest.
Nidoking felt the air being knocked out of his lungs but he clenched his teeth as he grabbed the tail and used it to get himself up as Kangaskhan tried getting him to let go of it.
Once he was on his feet Ash quickly yelled out, "Finish this with [Venoshock]!"
Nidoking extended his arms and shot a barrage of needle-like shots of poison at Kangaskhan that were also doubled thanks to the poison.
And with that, she was sent falling backward but the whole time still holding the baby tightly so she wouldn't fall on top of him. And when she fell on her back she had spirals in her eyes as the baby whimpered for his mom.
Gary quickly brought her back before the baby turned the tournament into a water show with his tears and pulled out his last Pokeball, without wasting any time he threw it out.
From it, Blastoise stomped out into the field smiling as he crashed his arms together looking at Nidoking who was looking pretty weak.
Gary smiled as he held up his necklace, "Well then I guess there's no point in delaying this is there?" then he pressed it, "Mega Evolve!"
Blastoise's body was the first to erupt in bright white light as his duo cannons became 1 big cannon with 2 on each arm, going Mega-Blastoise.
Ash smiled, "Then let's see how you deal with this, [Thunderbolt]!"
Nidoking took a breath before charging electricity between his horn and shooting it at Blastoise.
Gary smiled, "Please we're not stupid, Blastoise put your cannons into the ground and use [Iron Defense]"
Blastoise's body turned silver as the cannons dug into the ground as the [Thunderbolt] connected all the electricity that was shot all passed through and was sent into the ground harmlessly.
"Now [Flash Cannon]!"
Blastoise was already leaning over so with the big cannon he shot a silver blast at Nidoking engulfing him with the energy and sending him flying back with spirals in his eyes.
Ash returned Nidoking as he saw Blastoise tearing his cannons out of the ground, but even now he was smiling as he brought out his next and final new Pokemon. Charizard.
As soon as he did Charizard raised his head and roared and Ash held up his bracelet, "Good thing your not like Green, she would have stopped me,"
"Well it will be better if I beat you at your best," Gary said
"And I'll make you regret that, Mega Evolve!" Ash said as he pressed the stone.
Charizard was covered by the bright light, his wings growing and the fire on his tail burning so hot it turned blue, then as the light disappeared there stood Mega-Charizard X.
Gary called out, "[Ice beam]!"
Ash pointed into the sky, "Dodge then [Dragon Dance] and [Flare Blitz]"
Charizard flapped his wings as the pressure sent him shooting into the sky with Blastoise shooting at him with his cannons following him, as he flew his body started glowing purple briefly he spun back around and started falling.
As he did the flames started growing around him protecting him from the [Ice beam] barrage and dealt a bit of damage at Blastoise's shell before flying back up.
Gary pointed at Charizard, "Don't let him get away, [Aqua Jet]!"
Blastoise engulfed himself in water as he shot into the air and caught up to Charizard crashing into him on the way.
But Ash smiled, "Just as planned, now that you're away from the ground [Thunder Punch]!"
Gary widened his eyes as Charizard sent an electrified punch directly at Blastoise's face sending the turtle crashing into the ground.
Then Ash called out again, "Now [Dragon Tail]!"
Charizard spun around in the air and started falling tail first aiming to hit Blastoise directly in the chest but before that Gary called out.
"[Rapid Spin] to get out!"
Blastoise went back into his shell and spun out of harm's way from the incoming tail but he came back around like a boomerang and in the air came out of his shell.
"Now [Ice Hammer]!" Gary commanded
Blastoise shot a small blast from his arm cannon and created a hammer and bashed it over Charizard's head, sending him face-first into the ground.
Then as he jumped back Gary pointed at him, "Let's finish this, use [Surf]!"
In front of everyone's eyes, a huge wave was created out of nothing and from it Blastoise hopped on it and started riding it as it approached Charizard, and everyone could tell he wouldn't have enough time to fly high enough to escape it.
So Ash chose a different strategy, "Charizard let's do this [Flare Blitz] full power!"
Charizard's body was covered by bright orange flames, but the flames started burning so hot that sparks of blue started appearing, and before the water even reached him it started boiling under Blastoise's feet.
Then when Charizard launched himself forward his flames burned brighter and he went inside the wave, but instead of being stuck in water like everyone expected, the water began to boil hotter and started evaporating and burning Blastoise's feet.
Charizard then shot out from below Blastoise and sent them both flying into the sky as the field was covered in steam from the water and fire.
Charizard then sent Blastoise flying back down and slamming his body into the ground cracking it as Charizard flew back over to his side, looking at them they were both starting to get tired and Ash and Gary were even beginning to sweat.
Gary looked over at Ash and smirked, "What do you say we end this now?"
Ash gave a malicious smile, "Oh you mean that, ok, let's destroy the entire field!"
Charizard and Blastoise both got ready because this was the final attack to decide everything.
Gary raised his arm out and pointed, "[Ice Burn]!"
Blastoise's body began glowing orange as an orb of energy was created in his cannons.
Ash copied Gary's pose, "[Eternabeam]!"
Charizard's body began glowing purple as energy started being condensed in his mouth.
Then they both released, Blastoise shot the orb that created 1 large beam coming from his cannon and multiple smaller reddish-purple beams of energy, and Charizard shot out a purple beam of energy from his mouth with multiple smaller, similar beams.
The attacks clashed the pressure from both causing people all the way in the stands to fall over from the wind, and small blasts from the 2 were rickashaying everywhere in fact if it weren't for the fact that there were force fields in front of the stands some people would probably get hit.
In the VIP room, they were all watching this final interaction and seeing these 2 Pokemon using something that no one thought possible.
From the snack booth a certain trio was watching, then in unison they screamed out, "That's our twerp! You can do it!"
From the stands Green, Yellow, Brock, and Misty were hanging on watching the final clash cheering on as well as every other contestant that was watching was cheering as well.
In every Gym in Kanto a Gym leader was watching, each of them with a different reaction but in the end the same thing, this was incredible, and wondering if they could get a rematch.
In Pallet Town, everyone from the children to the adults, to Ash and Gary's friends were watching Delia and Daisy sitting at a table watching from the TV.
In Sinnoh Paul was watching from his TV as he was packing his bag, scoffing at the interaction, but he couldn't help but keep watching.
In other regions, although most people don't watch the tournament outside of their own all of Ash's friends were watching intently on the screen saying all kinds of things.
"You can do it!"
"This is incredible!"
"Ash and Gary are incredible!"
"Push a little harder!"
"You can do it, little buddy!"
"How this isn't logical?"
"No, but it is fun!"
"So this is what real trainers look like!"
In the Sky Liko was watching with the rest of the crew, seeing this interaction everyone was watching silently,
Until Friede spoke up, "Come on Ash! You can't lose as an honorary member of the Rising Volt Tacklers!"
Everyone signed at Friede's antics as they kept watching, and locked in the room a purple-headed girl was also watching the battle staring in awe.
In Kalos a certain girl with Honey colored hair watched intently, her eyes focused on Ash in particular, "You can do it," Serena mumbled, holding her breath.
Back at the battle, the clash was starting to destroy the field they were standing on, so they started giving it even more power.
For a moment Blastoise's blast looked like it was starting to overpower Charizard's since it was Ice, but then for a moment Ash clenched his teeth, he could feel his blood pumping, and he could hear his heart pumping.
*Bum**Bum**Bum*
But as he felt it, he realized it wasn't just his, he could feel Charizard's heart pumping as he felt like they were in sync.
Ash took one deep breath and looked forward, "Charizard let's give this everything we have!"
As soon as he said that it looked like Charizard got a Second Wind as the blast became twice as big and started overpowering Blastoise's until he was completely enveloped and everything exploded.
As the dust settled and everyone was looking to see what happened they saw Ash and Gary both sitting on the ground catching their breaths, the field was almost completely destroyed and Blastoise was lying there after returning to base with spirals in his eyes.
And when they looked over they saw Charizard still up but he fell out of Mega form from fatigue, but he was still up as he roared into the air.
At that moment everyone started cheering their voices out and the announcer took the mic, "And that's it! We have our winner of this year's Indigo League! In an incredible clash of power that left everything destroyed in its way, the winner is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"
