Chapter 162: Ivysaur's past
{Flashback no Jutsu}
Years ago when Ivysaur was just a newborn Bulbasaur he was born in a forest with a beautiful tree overlooking all the other Grass frogs.
His furthest memory was when he opened his eyes and saw a big sister Ivysaur, with two Venusaur parents, and his father had a distinct shine in his flower.
His Venusaur father looked at him and smiled, "[My son, I hope you will grow strong just like your old man]"

When Bulbasaur was at the age when he was considered a child he loved to take care of the flowers and the younglings who were too small to even walk around.
His mother would sometimes find him asleep with the other younglings after hours of playing.
On this specific day, Bulbasaur was looking away from his mother as his body was currently covered in scratches with his mother using a [Heal Pulse] on him.
Bulbasaur remained quiet as he was being healed, "[…I'm not sorry]"
"[And you don't need to be,]" Venusaur's mom said, after all, Bulbasaur just ran to protect the babies from an Ekans.
"[…Are they all ok?]" Bulbasaur asked.
Venusaur's mom chuckled, "[How can you be worried about them when you're like this, they're all fine thanks to you.]"
Bulbasaur didn't say anything but Venusaur's mom could tell he was happy, "[You know it's not a crime to be greedy sometimes.]"
Bulbasaur looked confused as she continued, "[It's in your nature to help those who can't help themselves, that's what makes you so special]"

Bulbasaur and his father Venusaur were out near the outskirts of the woods, Venusaur brought him out to learn to train but Bulbasaur was more interested in the flowers and playing with some wild Butterfree.
Venusaur chuckled seeing his son play around and extended a vine to grab him, "[Hehehe, common son if you wanna grow up and be like your daddy you need to learn how to fight]."
Bulbasaur reciprocated by using his vine to grab his father's, getting a chuckle, "[I was just like you when I was your age, and when you grow up you need to protect everybody, just like your old man. Now let's see you fight!]"
Bulbasaur nodded and got into a pounce position but got distracted by the Butterfree making him instead jump up and fall to his back, getting a laugh from his father as he helped him flip over.
"[Hehhe, alright maybe this isn't the best approach, how about I bring your sister over and we can all train together.]" Venusaur asked getting a happy nod from Bulbasaur
"[Alright stay here and don't move, there are some nice flowers over their alright, I'll be back in a few seconds.]" Venusaur said as he walked back to their home.
Bulbasaur went closer to the flowers and smelled them, but then he saw a young Butterfree collecting nectar from the nearby flower, he was fascinated and as the Butterfree started flying away he followed to play with it.
As he followed he suddenly noticed something, a rope, something he had never seen before so his curiosity got the better of him as he approached it and grabbed it, but as soon as he did it was pulled away so he followed.
When he went further he eventually exerted the forest and grabbed onto the rope only to look up and see 2 People looking down at him, with one holding a gun towards Bulbasaur, but as soon as they noticed Bulbasaur they put it down and the one forwarded picked him up.
"Hey, look at what we got here, a Bulbasaur, what a score these puppies can give us a fortune!" the poacher said as he looked at Bulbasaur's fearful face.
"Hehe, alright let's go quickly, don't want anyone to see us," the second poacher said as he pulled out a crate and helped his partner put Bulbasaur inside and nail it shut.
They both started to put it onto their truck and started securing it with Bulbasaur screaming for help from inside.

When Venusaur and big sister Ivysaur returned they were both immediately shocked to see Bulbasaur was gone, but they both just thought he was playing hide and seek so they started quickly looking for him.
"[Bulbasaur come on out]"
"[Bulbasaur were here!]"
"[Hey Bulbasaur you win we give up.]"
The more they looked the more worried they got looking around looking in Bushes, in the grass, in the trees, etc.
"[Have you seen Bulbasaur!?]" Venusaur asked, receiving a head shake from her.
But from the distance they heard something, the muffled voice, "[Daddy!!!]"
Venusaur raised his head and looked at where the voice came from and saw a truck with a box in the back, making his pupils dilate "[NO!]"
Venusaur turned towards his daughter, "[Go and warn the village, I need to go!]" receiving a nod from Ivysaur as she ran away.
Venusaur turned and later his flower bloomed as his Chlorophyll activated and he dashed at an unnatural speed.
Venusaur ran quickly and took a shortcut through the trees making the plants move out of the way in his feet using [Trailblaze] to skate through and catch up and jump on the back of the truck.
The muffled voice of Bulbasaur, "[Daddy!!!]"
"[I'm here!]" Venusaur yelled as he used a vine to try to pry open the crate, but as the first board came off showing Bulbasaur's scared face the sound of a clock was heard.
When Venusaur turned to the front one of the poachers held a gun aimed at him and fired.
*Bang*
Bulbasaur closed his eyes and when he noticed it he saw his father Venusaur fall off the truck and roll onto the ground as the truck didn't slow down.
"[Daddy!!!]" was the last thing Bulbasaur said as the truck moved away.
Venusaur forced himself up, his ear had a hole through it and he could feel the blood falling from the side of his face, "[No, no!]"
Venusaur ran as fast as he could, but no matter how fast he ran he couldn't find the truck or his son.
Since that day Venusaur still has that scar of his failure, whenever the topic of his son would get brought up his scar would ache.
But this isn't his story, with Bulbasaur he was taken from his home, for he didn't even know how long, the poachers were not stupid either they knew that as a Grass type, they could keep Bulbasaur alive with just sunlight but also weak enough for him not be able to do anything.
Bulbasaur eventually got so weak that he had to fall asleep from exhaustion from everything, but the last thing he heard was, "What's your best offer?"
When he woke up he found himself in a new box, he somehow felt better like someone let him get more sun to sustain himself he heard an adult voice speak.
"Happy birthday Hanakirai, it is your 10th birthday and you'll need a partner soon so I got you something."
Then he heard the sound of paper being ripped and then the box opened blinding him for a moment until he felt himself being picked up, when his vision cleared he saw a girl holding him, slightly looking upset.
"Daddy! I said I wanted a Squirtle!" the girl who was apparently called Hanakirai cried.
"I'm sorry dear but unfortunately they ran out, something about a kid with a fire specialist girlfriend or something." the father tried to explain
"You're just making excuses Daddy, I hate you!" Hanakirai said as she dropped Bulbasaur and ran away.
This was just the start of his torment.
Not long after Hanakirai left begrudgingly with Bulbasaur to have an 'adventure,' though it could hardly be called that since apparently the father hired a group of pretty boys to act as her bodyguards and she was too stupid to know, she just thought she had a reverse-harem.
Hanakirai and Bulbasaur left, and although they both didn't want to be there unlike Hanakirai, Bulbasaur didn't have a choice, he had no idea where he was or how to survive.
They traveled for a bit, Bulbasaur would fight but never when an already injured Pokemon or an infant, which made Hanakirai more upset.
Over the course of whatever you could call this, Hanakirai did catch more Pokemon, (With the help of her so-called reverse-harem) leaving the need for Bulbasaur less apparent until one day.
Hanakirai wanted to 'train' with Bulbasaur, which was already ridiculous since she never trained any Pokemon, but the opponent was one of her Boy companions who was an actual competent trainer.
It doesn't take a genius to know he was set up to fail, and after a beating in a battle, Hanakirai broke his Pokeball and kicked him away mumbling, "What a useless Pokemon." and she left, leaving Bulbasaur half dead in a forest.
He should have died, and he was ready for it, until a certain Blue-headed girl found him, and the rest is history.

{Back to present}
The spiked vines were enveloping Ivysaur as his memories flashed before him, from the side the Venusaur king was glad this was almost over, ever since these two brats came to his sanctuary the scar on his ear felt like it was burning.
He raised his vine about to announce Ivysaur's loss when suddenly a light emerged from the small cracks in the roots, as they began struggling to remain grasped, and even Princess Venusaur was struggling to keep them in place.
From the roots, vines came out and started pulling the roots apart and separating revealing Ivysaur to have diapered and replaced with a Venusaur.
Ash's Pokedex rung as he took it out

'Wow that's pretty good,' Ash thought as he turned to see Venusaur's moves and his eyes almost fell out of their sockets, 'Wait he has that, ohhh fun.'
Venusaur broke free from the roots as his flower bloomed open, revealing not only his red Tree-like flower but also pink petals coming from him.
Princess Venusaur was tired after exerting the pressure of using that move so Ash smiled seeing the perfect opportunity.
"Let's try something new [Nature's Madness]."
Venusaur used his foot and stomped on the ground unleashing a shock wave of pink energy from the place he hit, the surrounding area began to sprout flowers all around the forest, then around the Princess Venusaur pink bolts appeared around her, and energy erupted from the ground underneath her.
As the energy dispersed Princess Venusaur was looking worse for wear as all the grass frogs in the area stared at the new beautiful surroundings,
Ash looked towards the Princess and frankly the king, "This was fun and all but all good things must end, Venusaur let's give her one of her own, use [Earth Power]!"
Venusaur used his foot, and just as the Princess did before, the ground cracked under her as it exploded, creating a crater and knocking Venusaur out, leaving all the Grass frogs stunned.
Ash walked forward to Venusaur as he rubbed his flower. Meanwhile, the Venusaur King and Queen walked forward, the queen moved over and started healing her daughter quickly, she recovered in a few seconds.
The Venusaur King stood in front of both of them looking at them imposingly, "Venusaur [It seems you have succeeded, if your are expecting praise don't hold your breath, I will allow you to choose then you will leave never to-]"
As the king was talking the Queen felt suspicious about something, so she walked next to her husband and looked at Venusaur until her eyes widened.
"Saur [Dear wait]," she said as she came forward.
Venusaur was taken aback and looked at his wife in a gentle tone, "V-Venusaur [Hey wait can't y-you see I'm trying to do something here]"
"Venu-Saur [Y-yeah just give me a second]" she said as she extended her vines and grabbed Venusaur's face to move it around.
"Saur [Fine]" Venusaur king puffed as he turned away crossing his vines
Venusaur looked at Ash, "Venusa-? [Hey this is weird isn't it?]" to which Ash just shrugged.
As the queen looked over Venusaur's face and flower she felt her throat get dry and tears began to well in her eyes, "Saur [It's you-]"
"Saur? [Ehh?]" Venusaur said.
The queen looked at the king, "Venus-Venusaur [It's him.]"
The king also looked surprised as he came forward and used his vines to look over, and he raised the leaf covering his head finally seeing a pattern he recognized.
"V-Venusaur- [You-you've come home.]"
"Saur? [What?]"
The king said as he raised up his leaf revealing the same pattern, "Venusaur [Son, you've come home]"
Ash + Venusaur: "Ehh, Σ(°△°|||)"
With his son finally home, the pain in The king's scar seemed to disappear.
