Chapter 83: Abyss Below

Cheng Hua and the trio eliminated all the enemy soldiers except for one.
Fang Meng asked. "So, who's going to do it?"
"I'll do it." Lian Bai volunteered.
He grabbed the soldier by the neck.
"You better spill everything. I'll make your death painless if you do so." Lian Bai threatened him.

The soldier was scared senseless.
Swishhh!
Suddenly an ice arrow came soaring.
"Look Out."
'Dragon Coil'
Chen Hua launched dragon-shaped lightning bolts toward the arrow.
Boom!
Ice arrow disintegrated and the lightning bolt disappeared.
The trio glanced toward the direction of the attack.

Wooshhh!
The wyvern landed at the decimated entrance gate releasing a powerful shockwave.
Ahhh!
The weak cultivators were tossed away like leaves, leaving only the strong cultivators in the original location.
The trio witnessed the wyvern, making them nervous. Small beads of sweat formed on their face.
Lian Bai nervously asked. "Brother Cheng, are we seeing the same thing?"
Cheng Hua replied. "Are you seeing big ass bird too?"
Lian Bai nodded.
Chen Hua replied. "Then we are seeing the same thing."
Fang Meng interjected. "Are we supposed to fight that thing?"
Chen Hua spoke. "I would not if I had a choice. But, I don't think it's here for a peace talk."
"Alright. Let's go."
The trio advanced.
The wyvern smirked seeing their action.

'Lightning Domain'
The Domain overlapped releasing hot and cold aura simultaneously.
"T..T...That's impossible." Fang Meng stuttered and fell back.
The remaining two were too shocked to speak.
"Now, do you understand what you are going against?"
Suddenly, Guo Min appeared from the back of the wyvern.
"You..."
Guo Min's sudden appearance shocked the trio again.
Guo Min stated. "Just surrender. The lord might spare your life."
But their shock was soon replaced by anger, anger due to his betrayal.
Lian Bai yelled. "A traitor dares to talk big."
Guo Min replied with calm. "Later don't say you didn't get a chance."
"Bastard."
'Lightning Domain'
Cheng Hua was the first to engage.
'Ice Domain', 'Water Domain'
Both Lian Bai and Fan Meng followed suit.
Unlike the wyvern, their 'lightning domain', and 'ice domain' were clashing against each other. But, Fang Men's 'Water Domain' acted as the support domain for both stabilizing their domain.
Yet, their stabilized domain only had a range of 700 meters and it was 3 times weaker than the wyvern's domain.
As a result, their domain was pushed back.
Lian Bai stated. "This won't do. If you guys have some hidden skills. Now might be a perfect time to show off."
However, none of them used anything.
The domain started diminishing with every passing second.

The wyvern's domain started contracting-increasing the pressure on the trio.
Lian Bai yelled. "This is bad."
Fang Meng asked. "What do we do?"
Cheng Hua retorted. "Stop yelling and let me think."
The pressure kept increasing with every passing second.
Suddenly he remembered the history of the sect.
"Dryvein."
"All of you, let's attack the ground together," yelled Cheng Hua
Fang Meng retorted. "It's not time for a joke, Brother Cheng."
Cheng Hua yelled. "If you want to survive, just do what I say."

The trio launched attacks one after another causing the ground below to crack.
The wyvern noticed their strange behavior.
'Lightning Rain'
The lightning bolts started striking everywhere, and it was getting close to the trio.
"Shit. Attack faster or we are toast."
'Dragon Coil'x10
'Ice Spear'x10
'Earth Mountain'x10
The lightning bolts were creeping toward them ever so closely, making them even more desperate.
Hehehe!
The wyvern grinned at their desperation.
The lightning bolts were only a few meters away.
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
Suddenly the entire ground started shaking.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The ground started breaking apart and the pieces of land fell into the deep abyss below the sect.
Roarrrrr!
Ahhhhh!
Soon, humans and beasts also started falling below. The abyss started swallowing everyone without discrimination.
The trio were also among them.
'Enshroud'
Darkness spread from Fang Meng and swallowed Cheng Hua and Lian Bai and unified with the abyss.

'Enshroud' deactivated and sent the trio tumbling down.

They started rubbing their body.
Lian Bai screamed. "I remember saying 'If you guys have some hidden skills. Now might be a perfect time to show off."
Fang Meng retorted. "Shut up, fart. If I had used it back then, the beast would have developed a counter easily."

Lian Bai was pissed but couldn't respond.
Cheng Hua said. "Can you guys stop bickering? Follow me. I know the way."
Lian Bai joked. "You know the way out? Do you live here?"
Cheng Hua yelled. "Shut up and follow me. Don't forget who built the 'Dryvein' sect."
They went silent and followed him.
Boom!
Suddenly, a fireball made its way toward them.
'Enshroud'
The darkness swallowed the trio and disappeared.

Above The Ground
The wyvern soared to the sky and saw the trio being swallowed. But, instead of dropping below, they simply disappeared from the spot.
"Teleportation?"
The Wyvern was taken aback.
"No that's not possible. Even back in my world 'space' element users are almost non-existent. There's no way one can be here."
"That only leaves the 'shadow' element. That must be the case." The wyvern affirmed itself.
Then it dove below chasing after them.
The trio was oblivious to it.
The abyss was at least two kilometers(1.2 miles) deep and 10 kilometers(6.2 miles) wide. It was pitch black, so the wyvern launched a fireball below for vision. The trio was attacked by one of the stray fireballs.
The wyvern arrived at the bottom of the abyss in a few minutes. It had yet to know the location of the trio.
Once at the bottom, it advanced toward the opposite direction of the trio.
Meanwhile, the trio flew to their limit in the opposite direction.

One end of the abyss, 30 minutes later
The wyvern came out of the abyss.
"Those lucky bastards. They must have gone in the opposite direction."
The wyvern roared and took off.
The trio arrived at the exit ten hours later since they had to travel in the darkness fearing the wyvern.
However, they couldn't advance further as the wyvern was waiting for them outside.
The wyvern could feel their presence and stated. "I'll slaughter 1000 humans for every minute you don't come out."
The trio were in a pickle.
